    Libre Location.

I only place mine on the outside/back of my arm, within the circle on the Libre application pictures. Though I have read here some people have placed on the inside of the arm pointing towards the body to prevent knocking it off, and I believe someone said they had it on their chest. But I’m not...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@PenguinMum , tbh I don’t think it will make much difference being in a wheelchair full-ish time for this holiday. I don’t have a cast or anything and I can still walk on it ok, as my brain can’t tell me it hurts. I’m at a place called Revitalise Netley Waterside House, it’s near Southampton...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Well, x-ray results in, I’m gonna be off my feet for this holiday, chipped a bone in my foot. Good job I’m a part-time wheelie anyway on a holiday for people with disabilities. Even with the injury I’m one of the more abled, and with my conditions I don’t feel any pain from my feet. I guess in...

"Rethinking A1C Goals for T2 Diabetes"

Whilst I can agree with you, I feel for some it’s too late anyway. If they were giving her a true low carb diet it might be a bit different their healthy eating is carbs on every plate. Cutting out biscuits, deserts and chocolate. Everything she looks forward to, she’s already in pain, unable to...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Oh dear. It doesn’t sound like many are having much of a good day today. @Bubbsie hope your stomach settles. @johnpol hope your household clears the cough. @Krystyna23040 hope all goes well with your injection.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.3 this morning. Tad low for me. Holiday started well, spent last night up the minor injuries clinic and gotta go back today for X-ray as it was too late for them to X-ray it last night. Looks like it’s gonna chuck it down with rain as well today.

    Portable Insulin Fridges

Can I suggest contacting the organisers, or finding a forum like this for participants past and present. I’m sure you can’t be the first ever diabetic to participate in this event. Hopefully you could get advice from others who have been in the same situation. Not just regarding the insulin but...

I did have, and have got again this thread popping up in my flag/alerts, but it disappeared for some unknown reason.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I just re-found this thread. An 8.6 this morning. It’s high because although I’m eating LCHF for my meals, I’m drinking 1.5L of coke a day and eating dolly mixture to try to keep my sugars over 5. While I wait for my insulin dose to be lowered which was agreed by the nurse last Monday, I’m just...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

I understand your a little isolated, do amazon deliver to you? I just searched on amazon, specifically amazon pantry, they have a lot of low carb bread and bread mixes. I haven’t checked the nutritional information of them, but it maybe worth you looking into it...

Freestyle Libre PRO sensor with non-pro reader/app ?

I’m not 100% sure here, but my understanding is that gimp, and the similar 3rd party apps won’t activate the sensor, it has to be activated with a reader.

"Rethinking A1C Goals for T2 Diabetes"

My gran is in a fantastic care home, and they wouldn’t talk to her like that, it was me estimating what a conversation would go like, trying to show that my grandmother no longer has complex reasoning capabilities.

Type 2 Help! Going out tonight.

Tonight I’m going out to a small community centre which has a bar, not as well stocked as a pub. Normally I just drink a pint of full fat coke and accept that my sugars will be up. Since I’ve started working on adjusting my diet I’ve avoided going out so I don’t get tempted, but I don’t want...

    Need a little help please

Could you use the ‘visual Keto guides’ to make your list, a little more work than transporting a list maybe, I found them very helpful. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto/foods

"Rethinking A1C Goals for T2 Diabetes"

She doesn’t really have the ability to make more complex decisions. She can say yes or no to biscuits. If you explain biscuits will increase her sugars and could lead to health risks, it just confuses her. The conversation would be something like. Carer: do you want a cup of tea? Gran: yes...

"Rethinking A1C Goals for T2 Diabetes"

Well I kinda agree with the idea of just manage symptoms in the elderly, my grandmother 80+ who is in poor health generally has just been diagnosed diabetic, now on top of even more medications the care home are helping her have a better diet before being retested, so she’s now miserable as...
