It is a one off purchase.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

PRO: I really like the ability to calibrate the results against a finger prick test. (I’m not sure if you NEED the MiaoMiao to do this, there are some 3rd party apps like spike, xdrip, and another I think) I know I couldn’t get the one for iPhone as it needs installing every week by computer...

PR SUCCESSES - GETTING THE WORD OUT THAT LCHF IS THE BEST DIET TO HELP TREAT TYPE 2 DIABETES

From what I’ve understood with my own research is the VLCD period is short, 8-12 weeks. Then after your body has kinda reset. The blood glucose control gained in the starting phase probably won’t last that long if you start eating carbs, sweets and chocolates etc daily. Eating...

Quick tip Bubbsie, translate.google.com will translate web pages if you just type the url into the translate box. Here it is done for you to be read in English. (Not always the best translation but give you a general idea...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this morning. Off to volunteer today, though it maybe a day volunteering from the wheels. I can’t cancel as I couldn’t go last week. Beading: 13 of 20 triangles done and it’s starting to look a bit ball shaped. No picture cos it looks boring right now.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.8 this morning. I will be glad when I’ve finished the antibiotics. I’m not sure if these higher numbers are due to switching to using the MiaoMiao2 or a combination of infection and antibiotics. Also could be down to the fact I’m having more real food at the moment, I was struggling with 4...

Which service should I use to see a GP now via phone?

If you need it urgently you can try 111 nhs direct. They can get you to see an out of hours doctor or sometimes do repeat prescriptions and send it to an open local pharmacy with just a telephone consultation if they can access your GP records.

Which service should I use to see a GP now via phone?

Does your NHS GP offer an e-consult? Where you fill out an online form with your information and details of what you want to discuss with them? Usually they take 3 days to get back to you, with either a message, telephone call, or they book you in for an appointment. When I’ve used mine they...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks SaskiaKC, I am on preventative medication and that’s really cut down the frequency, it’s my first UTI since April. This is my MiaoMiao over the top of my libre sensor, I’ve had a carer say it looks like I’ve got a security tag on my arm like they use to protect clothing in shops.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I think I forgot to post this morning. Since I get the MiaoMiao readings every 5 minutes I don’t really take a fasting blood sugar reading but at 7am I was 6.7. I think the UTI infection and antibiotics are having their fun with my sugar levels, and my poor stomach. Still working on my Christmas...

    Flu jab sore arm

Yeah I think that’s a pretty normal reaction. I’ve had flu jabs for the past 11-12 years. Varying levels of achy-ness, and swelling and hot to the touch. I don’t know how true it is but a colleague told me once if the body doesn’t react to the jab then you don’t create the white blood cells to...

Blood sugar monitor for use by one hand?

Although all these ideas for one handed finger prick tests, rely heavily on the assumption your hubby can prick the fingers on his broken arm. That they aren’t covered by a cast/bandages or too painful to put in a position to give easy access to the finger tips. If that is the case I’m not sure...

Blood sugar monitor for use by one hand?

I sometimes struggle getting one strip out the pot with 2 hands when the pots rather full.

Blood sugar monitor for use by one hand?

Although I’ve never used it there is I believe a metre that has cassettes/drums of test strips and lancets preloaded in one device. If he can hold the device in his left hand and stab his fingers on the right hand it maybe a possibility if you load it then your husband can do the tests and have...

Blood sugar monitor for use by one hand?

How about a Libre while he heals? Once applied (every 14 days) scan it with a phone that has NFC (near field communication) a couple of finger prick tests every now and then will give an idea of how different from his metre it runs.

    HR and type 2

Your the second person I’ve seen tonight to post to an unintended thread. And saw your comment in a cholesterol thread that your posts went missing. There is works going on behind the scenes I believe, could be a few gremlins having their fun while the techies are doing their duties.

    HR and type 2

@Guzzler im not the OP, but I’m a bit confused at how cholesterol levels impact heart rate? @Marcus1234 I've had a high heart rate for the past 10 years (before diabetes diagnosis) resting rate generally between 110-120 since I got my sugars under control it’s come down to nearer 100. My heart...

    Success At Local Surgery

I think the issue with uploading it direct to a post in the forum maybe a file size issue, I don’t know what the size limit is but i know I’ve had to resize some pictures to upload them. Resizing a leaflet might become an issue when you try to print it and it ends up tiny in the corner of an a4...

Trust me... Type1 and Type2 diagnosed today. Why does my health problems have to be so convoluted???

From what I’ve understood from my time on the forum, (may not necessarily be correct,) type 1 has no insulin produced, type 1.5 has less than optimal insulin produced (long honeymoon period until later onset of no insulin production) type 2 is over insulin production with insulin resistance...
