    Sweating!

I’m gonna echo the others if you think sugar levels are giving you symptoms then you need to see what your sugar levels are and if there’s a pattern. I’m sure others will be along to give you info on cost effective metres if it’s something your interested in. I suffer heat intolerance, not so...

Type 2 Progressed onto Insulin - is it reversible?

@stevew242 I have quoted my post from another thread which goes into more detail on my journey. I’d been diabetic for about 3 years before taking action, I only used humilin I twice a day injection. Right now I’m still on VLCD shakes, and about 3 meals a week, I don’t know if I will be able to...

    Taking wrong insulin

Well maybe not as bad as it could have been then. Imagine injecting the wrong insulin just before crawling into bed after a long shift. Stay safe and have a good shift considering.

    Taking wrong insulin

If you know how many units you gave yourself you maybe able to calculate how many carbs you need to head off the hypo and allow yourself to get some sleep. If you’ve caught your error really quickly something like toast might be better. Kinda treating it like an extra meal rather than fighting...

PR SUCCESSES - GETTING THE WORD OUT THAT LCHF IS THE BEST DIET TO HELP TREAT TYPE 2 DIABETES

I think Libre should be prescribed to everyone who is serious about reducing their hab1c. Even if only 6 sensors at first then 1 every 6 months. But as they are hit and miss prescribing metres and strips that will probably never happen. I found that while on insulin I could drop in to the red...

    Type 1 Caught short

Anyone can buy a RADAR key, I think some local councils sell them to people with disabilities, but you can also buy them online from amazon and other places. If you need a key, don’t matter the reason, get one.

PR SUCCESSES - GETTING THE WORD OUT THAT LCHF IS THE BEST DIET TO HELP TREAT TYPE 2 DIABETES

YES!!! And I will honestly admit I’ve done the research, and put theories into practice before telling my diabetic nurse what I’ve done because I fear she would have persuaded me away from what I was thinking. Doing it my way (buying libre sensors, going LCHF, starting the VLCD, and stopping...

PR SUCCESSES - GETTING THE WORD OUT THAT LCHF IS THE BEST DIET TO HELP TREAT TYPE 2 DIABETES

My thoughts are that I’d continued to eat healthy as suggested by the nurse, cutting out sugar and cakes, but was eating a huge amount of carbs, cereal for breakfast, main meal with potatoes or pasta and rice and a couple of slices of bread, supper was a few slices of toast or bread rolls, no...

    MiaoMiao2 & tomato

@h884 thanks, I was starting to worry I’d made a big mistake, I know most people use spike on iOS, and something else on android. Tomato doesn’t seem to be used much.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.3 this morning, after feeling really pleased with myself I realised I only had 3/4 of my 4 daily shakes yesterday. So I’m gonna squeeze in an extra one today. Yesterday I finished 2 more medallions I have 2 more to make before assembly. I have got a chiropractor appointment today, never been...

    MiaoMiao2 & tomato

Hi does anyone use MiaoMiao with the tomato app? How do you find tomato for ease of use etc? As I will be using my iPhone and Apple Watch, and don’t have access to a computer I can’t use spike, as can’t install it every week. I have purchased MiaoMiao2 which will hopefully be here soon. I was...

Do I need insulin even if reading is normal?

If you are in the UK and can’t contact your doctor/nurse, you can ring NHS 111 and they can give dosing advice until you can talk to your doctor.

    Parking???

Maybe get a pack of glucose tablets to sit in your car glove box, one or two of them should buy you enough time to park officially before going into the shop. 3 or 4 gluco-tabs should solve the hypo without need for the shop allowing you to stay with the car until feeling better. They usually...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.6 on the Libre this morning. No beading at all done yesterday as I was too unwell after volunteering. Current state of affairs with the bracelet I was working on is included. I’ve spent a week on this bracelet, and it’s driving me mad so going to switch to another project.

At 77 should I really be too worried at a rising HbA1c?

I think you should carry on as you have been, in 7 years your hab1c has risen by 3. Whatever you have been doing has worked well for you. In this rate of decline it will be another 7 years before you even hit diabetic levels for hab1c. I don’t suggest you eat bread by the loaf or anything really...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.3 this morning. I’m up and had my shower this morning, but by the looks of the weather I’m gonna be getting wet all day I think. To the station to catch my train, from the train station to my volunteering, again in reverse, then out and back tonight to the community centre for beading. I could...
