Hi, never thought I would be joining a forum like this

I haven't read you have a bg meter, or did I miss it? It might be worth getting one, with cheap strips (there are other posts on here with recommendations) then you can see just what foods cause too much of a bg spike (more than 2 above the level you started on 2 hours after your first bite)...

    Empagliflozin

Although I was told empagliflozin could cause weight loss it hasn't touched me as far as I can see. My clothes all fit the same as ever. I'm on the maximum dose. I think weight loss is a 'may' not a definite side effect.

    Review of GlucoRx Aidex

About the same - sometimes they tallied fairly well. The worst difference I had was about 17% with the Aidex.

    Review of GlucoRx Aidex

Review of GlucoRx Aidex First a disclaimer. I am not an employee of GlucoRx nor do I have any vested interest in them. They did send me 2 sensors when I complained on a Facebook site that my 1st one had died, otherwise I have received no special goods, treatment or incentives to write this...

    Victoza and depression

Has anyone taking liraglutide, dulaglutide or any of the other - glutides found it made them depressed? It is described as a rare side effect but I wondered if it was just life or Victoza getting me down?! I don't want to stop the Victoza unnecessarily so the rarer it seems as a side effect on...

Going from keto to low carb?

    Ooh. Probably anything below 10.

Going from keto to low carb?

To eat low carb vs keto will mean doing the same but at higher levels. Eg. instead of sticking at about 30g carbs daily you could aim for 100g. You would still need to measure what you are eating to keep within the target. Alternatively, you could aim for a level of carbs per meal which causes...

    Type 2 Tired :(

Have you had a recent blood screen, including vitamin D levels, to exclude anaemia etc.? I felt exhausted when my vitamin D levels were low. And exhaustion can lead to less activity, including outdoors, so exacerbating the situation. Just another idea....

Type 2 and High Blood Pressure

Menopause is a pain. It totally shakes things up, if you're unlucky. But you can get on top of it, even get into remission, if you can swap your diet. May I recommend Rose Elliot books. She has produced at least 2 on low carb eating as a vegetarian. I'd tell you their titles but I've just...

Would anyone be interested in an Aidex CGM review?

    Ooh. I'll have a look!

Would anyone be interested in an Aidex CGM review?

I will happily review it then, although tonight I have been arguing with it that I am definitely not almost dead of a hypo! Not impressive.

Would anyone be interested in an Aidex CGM review?

I splashed out on the new GlucoRx Aidex CGM whilst having medication changes. It is cheaper the the libre 2 and other competition (dexcom?). I could review it once I've had it a week or so? Would that be worthwhile?

Just been approved for the libre 2

The new Aidex suggest shaving the area - presumably that is only worthwhile if the area is quite hairy. I've followed advice on here to just wash with soap and hot water and to make sure your skin is completey dry before affixing the sensor. I did that and had trouble getting it off again once...

    Sugar substitutes

I've heard that xylitol can kill dogs but I'm not sure the others are especially toxic to animals? Interestingly, xylitol kills dogs by decreasing their blood glucose.

    Statins -- timing of side-effects

I wonder if you are losing salts as an effect of the dapagliflozin?? Although I guess your blood salts will all have been checked. Have you had any dietary changes recently? E.g. vodka always gives me cramp in my calves and I have no idea why that should be.

    Food in moderation?

Have you seen the tiktok where a drunk guy is filmed eating his kebab AND the polystyrene box it is in, a bite at a time.... Luckily I don't think polystyrene affects bg!

    Trulicity or Glicizide

I took Trulicity for a month and am now switching, after a 2 week break to empty my system of the Trulicity, to an alternative medication. Whatever you try you won't be bound to it if it doesn't work for you. You don't need to worry :)
