    Digestion trouble on low carb

no cream cheese wouldn't, yogurt is a kind of fermented pro-biotic food, much the same as sauerkraut, keifter. No harm in trying a bit of good quality greek yoghurt with some fresh berries.

    Oat porridge

Steel cut oats are available here in Australia, but they are a pain to cook, take 30min or more and the benefits are like two points lower GI ranking. I tried to cook a batch but failed. So I stick with a very well know brand here in Australa called Uncle Toby's traditional rolled oats, and the...

    Digestion trouble on low carb

As I have stated before, strict keto really messed up with my tummy. First I suggest taking a pro-biotic supplement first thing in the morning, it can't do any harm and will re-establish a healthy gut microbiome. If you get more then 30g of fat a day, gallstone formation is rare, but it could...

3 weeks low carbs not lost a lb

Indeed I very much agree with your sentiments, hence why access to a blood glucose monitor and testing strips is necessary, to see how one responds to certain carbs, and to tailor ones food intake appropriately. But yes carbs affect type 2 differently to fat or protein.

3 weeks low carbs not lost a lb

Weight loss is basically calories in v calories out. Although diabetes complicates this with the need for glucose control. Calculate your BMR add your activity level and eat calories at a deficit and weight loss will happen. Adding some light exercise helps, also no snacking and three meals a...

    Oat porridge

I am type 2, but eat porridge every morning. I find adding fat in the form of peanut butter or full fat yoghurt, and a form of protein, both peanut butter and yoghurt have protein delays/mitigates a spike. 1 hour peak spike for me is 1.4 after and a 2hour hour peak of 0.6. This is for 52g rolled...

I have been with telstra broadband for 6 years, since moving out of home. But I am in a unit underneath a main residence that already has a NBN hookup. There is a lovely person at the telstra store in town that helped me register my address as a separate residence in the NBN system last year...

    Confused with carbs

I tested my response to certain carbs and specific amounts. I don't really worry about the carbs in broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, or green string beans or tomatoes and small amounts of onion as they are very low GI and ok. Occasionally I eat butternut squash boiled and carrots as a special...

Indeed mum's are the best, heck my parents have gone above and beyond the call of duty taking care of me during pneumonia and the other issues I have faced lately. They are amazing and I am constantly grateful for them to be in my life.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I had been remiss in not taking care of the shower, I use an anti bacterial soap so soap scum builds up, and ventilation was an issue that wasn't my fault. The fan wasn't sufficient. Plus he concrete deck above the laundry bathroom wasn't sealed. So in autumn winter condensation water actually...
