    No more pumping for now.

Your post is a timely one! I've been pumping for four years, just thinking of renewing to a new system for another four years.I've had the nagging thought in the back of my head for a while that I could probably achieve the same control with a split Levemir dose, novarapid and my free style...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

I'm with you on this one John. I've scoured youtube, various forums and can't get a clear report on this, I should be able to get a 7-10 day trial and when I do I'll endeavour to do a restart and will report back. I've had really good luck with accuracy with the freestyle libre and the dexcom I...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Imaging restarting a sensor with reduced sight isn't the easiest thing in the world. I'm fine with self funding, well if I get longer than six days for £52.50 I am...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Yes I know of two people who have got funding for cgms. However, both were following hospital admission for a low and evidence of hypo unawareness and living alone.

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Well INPUT mention on their page on the subject that funding is more likely to be provided if you can evidence a cost saving, e.g hospital admissions, severe lows requiring third party assistant. Both of which will get you a review of probably a suspension by the DVLA.

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

I'm keen to make an application for funding, was going to use the starter pack to get 8 weeks of data. Due to tight control and mostly sitting between 4.2-6.5 my warning signs have faded. I also live alone. My mother also died aged 44 following a protracted night time low and was left in a...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Well, I believe my order has been placed by my DNS for 640g. More apprehensive than excited to be honest. Interested in accuracy, reliability and cost effectiveness really so starting to think the vibe and the dexcomm might be a better choice. The pump does have some great features, but...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Hi, Did you just get a pack of free sensors? Or have you managed to secure cgm funding long term?

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Yes I remember seeing that. It's a tricky one. I'm going to see if I can get a trail of both systems. I've heard conflicting stories, had few guys on the enlites saying they've had no problems when they follow a few guidelines with insertions and are typically getting 14-16 days out of the...

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

40-50 days? I know someone who routinely gets 18-21 days. Not sure I'd want something inserted in me 40-50 days, bit extreme for me. Won't be moving to Medtronic if it's only possible to get 6 days out of a sensor. I'll go with the vibe and the dexcomm.

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

Hi, I'm moving to this system shortly. I will be self-funding the sensors, are people really only getting 6 days out of the sensors? At £52.50 per sensor that's a bit of a joke. With over tapping, careful position in an area of limted movement etc, what is the max people are getting out of...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

I'm moving from the accu -chek combo to the 640G during the first week of August. I've been informed I will be getting a free transmitter and five sensors bundled. I've read a few contrasting reports regarding the sensors, I'll be self-funding, how long do these things last, is it possible...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I'm wondering if the reader can be hacked to enable longer than 14 days out of a sensor. I know a few people who routinely get 20-24 days out of a dexcom sensor.

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Yes, mine was accurate straight away. I drink about four litres of water a day, so not sure if that helps.

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Hi, have we narrowed down why some sensors are more inconsistent than others, each sensor is manufactured to the same parameters which would suggest the inaccuracies are down to variables with the user??? Have we looked at placement of the sensors, or linked to other variables? e.g. rapidly...
