Moderator Elections 2019 - Voting Now CLOSED - Thank you everyone who voted.

In explaining the voting rules @Diakat correctly used the word “fewer” in a place that many people would incorrectly use “less”. That is setting a high standard of excellence that the new mods will need to live up to. Bump.

On here I'm generally polite - I get a bit more punchy on twitter. Ironic given on twitter I'm using my real name...but I assume everyone who comes here needs friendly help, whereas some of the people on twitter need a good talking to.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Starting year 2 with a 5.9. Which is 40% better than I started year 1.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The clock has ticked over onto 9 May. That was the day of my blood test one year ago. (I got results on 14 May). It was quite a day. I feel emotional just thinking about it. What a difference a year makes.

Moderator Elections 2019 - Voting Now CLOSED - Thank you everyone who voted.

After lying dormant from the forum for a few weeks, I return to find I've been nominated as a mod, failed to respond and missed deadline. I was both flattered and relieved....and very pleased to leave the field clear for people who could do a proper job of it. Good luck to whoever wins, and...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hello, I'm still about but have been dormant for a while. A lot going on in my life right now - some good, some challenging but all very time consuming. Sorry all..I even missed the whole Mod election - thanks to whoever nominated me but I would have said no. Liking the new thread and I will...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.9. I have nothing to say about this. It has still been a good week. But this displeases me.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.8 today. Drat- think I’m still a bit dehydrated. Muscles are recovered. Impact injuries to heel and ankle will take longer: having a week off running.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thank you all for the kind messages of support ahead of my big run along the canals yesterday. I started the day with a 5.9 which was nice. Then I made my way to the finish line, to catch a bus that took me to the start line in Manchester. I then ran back the 50km (31m) to the finish. It was...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.4 today. Tomorrow I’m running 31miles (50km) in a trail race from Manchester to Sowerby Bridge. The training has been brutal but I’m ready - it’s my first ever marathon. I’ll report back tomorrow afternoon. Hope you are all well.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.2 this morning. Today I had a meeting in Westminster so I had to run the gauntlet of the protesters in parliament square- they are a resilient bunch. Both sides; how do they stay motivated for so long? On the north side of the square I stopped to consider the statue of former prime minister...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.0 today. I’m in London today and had a jog along the South Bank. There were a lot of TV journalists about near Westminster doing their bits to camera with parliament in the background. Interesting times.

Brilliant- I also like the approach of replacing naughty words with Scottish place names. As in, “it’s ok to disagree but you don’t have to be a Falkirk Kilmarnock about it, you Motherwell”

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Ooh - I’ve been edited for moderation. First time. Sorry mods- didn’t mean to break the rules. That’s a low threshold though. If it means “rubbish” and rhymes with flappy then it’s not allowed.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Nothing so exciting. I do project based work so sometimes the deadlines are tight. It’s a factor I think in why I’m here in the first place: a heady mix of long hours, stress and constantly changing locations fuelled by ****** canteens, hotel food, petrol station snacks, vending machines ...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hello all. I’ve been doing 10-15 hour working days for past few weeks which is why I’ve been off the grid. Hope you are all well. My own sugars are the usual blend of ok, bit better, bit worse. This happens sometimes- nature of my job.

    New to Diabetes 2

Hi Sharon Welcome aboard . Lots of great advice above which may all seem a bit overwhelming and hard to take in. Build yourself a plan - just a day at a time, then a week, then a month...don't try to be perfect from day 1. Each step in the right direction gets you closer to being healthier and...

This may sound odd but I’m hoping it will be. Staying within my physical limits and enjoy the day.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

No carb loading for me Ian. I'm going to sound like one of those Keto-Warrior types when I call myself "fat adjusted" and say things like "why take your own sand to the beach?" But it works though. I don't get hungry during when I run provided I keep hydrated and replace the lost salts. I...
