What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.8 today. Apologies that I'm a bit less chatty at present. I am in training for a marathon at the end of March which is taking up a lot of my available time. Fitting in a couple of decent runs this weekend may be a challenge as it's Urchin number 2's birthday party (6 yrs) on Sunday. Anyone...

Hello, After a few relaxing days away I bounced back with a 5.8 yesterday and a 6.2 today. I'll take the average. I'll catch up on the thread chat later today. Have a great day folks.

6.7 today. Back in range now though. Have stopped sulking. Anyway coming back here always makes me smile - and nice to see @Goacher55 smiling back - love the new avatar: you look so happy.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning. My score this morning echoes that of the football match I saw at the weekend. 6.0 For BGL that leaves me neither cheering like Man City, nor crying like Chelsea. Just somewhere in between.

Mrs Rhubarb already thinks I'll be swimming, given my history of tripping over hazards whilst out running "along canals? you? you'll end up in them!" were her precise words. Apart from that she's quite supportive.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Oh lordy. What have I gone and done now? A friend of mine mentioned he'd signed up to do a 50km run along canals from Manchester to Sowerby Bridge. That sounds like a good challenge I thought. So I entered. It's in 6 weeks. I know I can cover the distance in the 10 hour time limit, I've...

Are you still there today - Chinese New Year parade starts in centre at 12. Usually quite a good show if you’ve time.

You may see us as we are just behind one of the goals. Obviously you won’t recognise me because in real life I don’t look like a goldfish.

5.7! Right that proves it beyond doubt. The medicinal qualities of a drop of scotch to cure a cold. I refrained from the hot water, lemon and (obvs) the honey. Just the amber liquor in its purest form. Next time I get cold I may try Bourbon. An exciting day awaits. Off to Manchester for the...

Thank you for the review. The medicine certainly helped but I'm not certain it was 100% effective so I may try a 2nd dose, maybe slightly larger this time. Science is all about putting the theories to the test....as they say in research papers "further studies are required."

I opted for single malt. That’s not a healthy choice I know but effective

Friday night’s treatment plan was a large scotch and an early night. Seems to have done the trick. 6.4 this morning, falling to 5.9 after breakfast. Foot is on the mend as well. Still trying to get the blood stain out of the carpet.

My cold has turned into proper man-flu. Headache, fatigue, snotbags - all of which is reflected in my morning score of 7.5. I put this down to dehydration rather than infection but who knows. Loading up on the fluids to get fit for the weekend. No hugs required. Just a darkened room and a duvet.

Can anyone help shed some light on what's happening please?

None of those numbers are horrendous and if you dial down the carb stuff a bit more they should come down. Some days though, you might be "high" for other reasons - cooking a bug or a virus, under a bit of stress, rushing around a lot, coffee a bit strong? If you are eating low carb for a...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hello. I've a bit of a cold so my numbers are up over last couple of days. But tested early at 5.45am so 6.3 was OK. What wasn't OK was that this was after attending to a 5 year old (also with a cold), stubbing my toe on his bedpost really badly, and realising (too late) that it was bleeding...
