    Keto diet

Hi Liz, and welcome. I'm not too sure what the keto supplement is, but on it's own and without the diet to go with it, I can't see how it would bring down your numbers. Anyway, you probably haven't seen @daisy1 's welcome post yet. I've tagged her, so she'll send it next time she's online. While...

friend just diagnosed type 2 and Metformin , getting free meter and strips ???

Sorry if I'm derailing, but does that happen every now and then? A while ago I posted a link which never showed up, and a few minutes later I caught a brief glimpse of a notification from a mod, but not enough time to see from whom. The link had been deleted because of 'profanities'. I re-read...

Do you have a date yet?

I thought it was age related too, till my GP convinced me otherwise. I'm sorry to hear that, and it doesn't exactly make me feel optimistic about the dermatologist project. What sort of treatment are you on? Tablets? Special shampoo? Sometimes I get this feeling that they're fishing for solutions.

Thanks Nicole, no I don't have a history of hypertension, and am not really worried, because I know that last time it was measured it was perfectly acceptable and was even coming down a bit. No, I'm sure it was those scales and my reaction to them. She did measure it three times, and saw it...

Thanks, Ziggy, I am pleased with my HbA1C, oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm almost an inch taller than last time she measured my height. I've grown taller! This means that my BMI has improved slightly not to too bad at 58, right? If I carry on like this I'll end up within normal weight...

I could, but I really don't have the pecuniary means :inpain: Well, I got the T4 free and the T3 total, but not the T3 free, and I've no idea to which extent that T3 is way too low, or just slightly low (1.3)

Type 2 Dear GP, please don't weigh me before doing my BP.

I know, but she just did a few vials of blood a couple of weeks ago, allegedly for thyroid and nothing else, so I didn't know. I did protest today when I realised she'd done my cholesterol, and told her I hadn't been fasting. She'd done a 'cholesterol course' (yay) and didn't think it made much...

You're so right. I didn't even mention that I walked to the surgery, which is about 30 minutes away, and that Muse might have got me a bit too excited for my own good :) Anyway, I do believe that those scales didn't help at all, but yeah, it was a bit funny too.

Type 2 Dear GP, please don't weigh me before doing my BP.

I normally have my BP done at the endo clinic, but today I'd consulted my GP for possible thyroid issues, but more about that later. I've been her patient for at least 30 years, so the tone between us is friendly and familiar. "Is your BP normally this high?" she asked, and I replied "no, but...

    Test showing hypoglycemia

The first thing I'd do if I felt fine, but got readings that abnormal and I suspected hardware failure, is to grab hold of my husband or someone else supposedly "normal" and test him.

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

That depends on which spices you use, if any. I made it from scratch with finely chopped red chili and currry. It tasted hot. (Fried it in my actifry, but you can do it in a wog or in a frying pan too. Keep stirring.) There's help to get from this blog too ...

    Empagliflozin/Jardiance and Metformin

Also, please be aware of the risk of ketoacidosis when on this group of drugs. There's a thread on this, but can't find it. Perhaps someone else can? Here's a link to an article on SGLT2 inhibitors. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-medication/sglt2-inhibitors.html I should add that I used to...
