Well, the nurse was pretty useless!

I work part time atm. 2.5 days a week, since getting breast cancer 5 years ago. Now I’ve been signed off by the boobie clinic, I’ve decided to go full time again (-0.5 days for uni). I don’t want to join a surgery near Work because it’s so far away from anything (industrial estate) and I don’t...

Well, the nurse was pretty useless!

Problem is that I leave really early for work. 7.10 if dh gives me a lift and 6.40 if I go in on the train. I also don’t get home until late. Why can’t all surgeries do a Saturday morning? Not like they’re not paid enough! I will do a complaint to the practice and the trust, when I get time...

Well, the nurse was pretty useless!

Yup. There is actually another surgery but still part of the practice and they do Saturday mornings so I might pop along there next time. Still can’t figure out how to get my blood done though. I’ve ordered a meter so I’ll start making notes of my readings so I can work out an average myself...

Well, the nurse was pretty useless!

After shock diagnosis last week (see previous thread) I went to the DN yesterday. What a waste of my time. She was new to the practice, b*ggered up the pc and spent more time trying to get into the system than talking to me. This practice really is a bl**dy shower! She took my weight, apparently...

    Soups and stews please

I did a bottom of fridge soup as I had some wilted mint, courgettes and onion lying around ready for the bin. Sautéed the onion, added courgettes (3) thinly sliced and seasoned. Then had inspiration and added a handful of manky frozen Morrisons peas (they’re always too hard). Half a litre of...

Just diagnosed with no information. Just pills :/

Crikey. I haven’t had a baked potato in years lol. I do sneak a chip off ds’s plate now and then, (like 2 max)but as I’m the ‘cook’, we don’t generally have chips, unless they’re sweet potato wedges. I’ve also got some pasta from Morrisons made from edamame beans, but I’m not going to risk it...

Just diagnosed with no information. Just pills :/

God. I’m still so confused. Do I get a meter? Will the nhs give me one? I’m not a high earner and don’t have much disposable income. I start a new job in January and won’t be able to get time off in the week at all, as I said earlier. So I’m going to join the local walk in health centre as they...

Just diagnosed with no information. Just pills :/

A little background info on me first. 52 years old and struggled with weight since having ds2 17 years ago. Went down to 12 stone with LCMs a few years ago and then diaiwith breast cancer in 2012. Had the works thrown at it: mastectomy, chemo radiotherapy + tamoxifen and now aromasin. I also...
