    Low readings every morning

Are these fingerprick readings or CGM, if CGM they could be compression lows. How does she feel? I'm usually not too worried if I wake up with a BG of around 4mmol/l, I can then eat breakfast. Can you refresh our memory regarding her insulin types please? If she has a CGM it would be...

    QRISK3

Ah, interesting they've separated the two (and good news). I'm doubtful they've significantly increased the size of the cohort though. Do you know, out of interest, what factor they apply for T1 vs T2 in the equation? I think the point stands about whether the cohort is representative though...

    QRISK3

I've posted my thoughts in the past on the massive change the single tickbox makes, when I was looking at the data that goes into it, I remarked that the number of T1 diabetics is very small in comparison to the T2 diabetics, and that it lumps everyone together irrespective of control. Re...

    Juggluco to Xdrip configuration

Great :) Apparently one can start a sensor with Juggluco, however I always use a Reader so I can post log data to Abbott in case of a failure. As a last resort (while abroad without a reader) I've started with the Librelink app for similar reasons, though I far prefer the reader as it won't...

    Juggluco to Xdrip configuration

You don't need OOP2 running as the encryption is removed by Juggluco. Can you check what the settings are on both Juggluco and XDrip+ as per my post above?

    Juggluco to Xdrip configuration

I use the following: Juggluco > Settings > Exchange Data > Patched Libre (which is crossed out) XDrip+ > Settings > Hardware Data Source > Libre (patched App) There is talk from the developer of Juggluco of removing the "Patched Libre" Intent broadcast (which is why it's crossed out in the...

    Nuts

I think you can simply request one. I was given a Libre1 reader with the libre1 trial pack way back when, and they simply replace them now. I'd pop an email on their support channel and say you've not got a suitable mobile phone, how does one obtain a reader, and I imagine they will send you one.

    Treating lows

Definitely, the delay in trying to think of something you'd prefer is best avoided, much easier to have something you're happy to eat and do so straight away even if it's (sub-optimal) chocolate (in my case).

    Travelling Abroad as a T1

Coolbag and ice. 4C is quite a very (good England there ;)) a rather cold fridge, I'd be happy to keep it at around 10C for the duration of a flight and not worry about it too much thereafter. YMMV.

    Nuts

More for the carb content of the non-tree nuts, specifically peanuts in my case (I don't really like cashews). Brazil nuts, for example (which I'm munching on right now) contain very few carbs. I would probably need to account for the protein if I'd not eaten any carbs earlier, but I'm very...

    Moderator Elections 2025

Thank you @Antje77 but I'll have to decline (children, lots of work, bike to be ridden - purely for the sake of my BG of course :)). My thanks to those who do moderate though :)

    New Libre warning

Unfortunately, even the unofficial apps don't get data while the sensor is offline.

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Please do keep a record, it would be interesting to see what other people find: https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/cgm-log-how-long-do-they-last-why-do-they-fail.114108

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

To answer myself, I had the replace sensor message this morning (after the sensor gave up producing data in the early hours) with the following codes reported when I scanned it (while it wasn't working): 49,130 (oldest) Er0,2014 Er2,266 Er3,365,P 33 (newest) (this are in chronological order...

Night time insulin and day time highs

That screenshot, at least, looks like you're stable (but higher than desired) overnight, and running a bit high due to breakfast (I assume) - I note you go back down to where you were beforehand, which is why I assume the amount of insulin is roughly correct. If it were me I'd take my breakfast...

    Frozen Shoulder Surgery

I also had a frozen shoulder (twice iirc, though usefully my online record is not helping me much!), it was both annoying and painful at the time ( I recall not being able to reach to the small of my back, though quite why I needed to do this and remember this being a problem so vividly I don't...

    Malitol

I realise they are indeed sugar-free, but they don't claim to be carb-free and apparently contain 81g CHO per 100g, which isn't far off what I'd expect for something containing sugar plus gelatine etc. to pad it out...

    diabetic carb counting in France

I'm certainly not against apps, but when I was in France earlier in the month I simply looked at the nutritional info on the packets, which is what I'd do in the UK too. For things without packets and barcodes, croissants and pains-au-chocolat for example, I'd have a look in e.g. Carbs and Cals...

    Jelly Babies

No reason for Jelly Babies except they are well known and easy to chew. They also iirc contain pretty much exactly 5g of CHO per baby, which makes it easy to count your required carbs. I don't think they are as effective/fast as Skittles, which are my preferred hypo treatment (~1g CHO/Skittle...

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

This is after the "Replace Sensor Message"? I must admit that I've never tried as I tend to just get on and replace the sensor at this point (they are usually suffering from some other ailment so I'm happy to get an automatic replacement), though I could imaging that if the sensor itself starts...
