Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

I started on diagnosis on 16 for both my basel and bolus. My bolus has since been whittled down over the past few weeks to its current dose of 10 per meal. Basel stayed the same. Hopefully they'll tweak tomorrow as I can't stay above 4 without snacking between meals. My two to three hours...

    1.8mmol hypo?

Thanks. I've been setting alarms at 4:30 and 7am (we sleep 1am to 9-10am usually). I've been needing to eat snacks before bed to see me above 6.5, and we are both really worried about night time hypos, you know, in case I die. Extreme. But that's what we both think... I'm usually sweaty at...

Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

Ah yeah, living as healthy as I can, and attempting to control my levels - I seem to be having to eat snacks in between meal times at this moment in time to stay above 4-5mmol, seeing the consultant tomorrow, but the constant worry about dropping is annoying both of us lol How did you cope at...

Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

I'm at that exact stage, the wife is living it with me, but going through the exact same feelings minus the non working or lazy pancreas lol she's my rock, and vice versa, I'm assuming there options for counselling but how long will that take to get an appointment and are they diabetic...

    1.8mmol hypo?

I'm really worried about night hypos now after reading that above. Is it right that I've read I shouldn't be going to sleep unless my BS is at least 6.5? Do you, and the rest of you, get up in the middle of the night to test blood? I'm on finger pricking, and I'm testing anywhere from 8 to 15...

Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

Thank you to everyone who has replied, useful information and words of encouragement are always welcome. It's a hard thing to accept at first, shock to the system and all that, literally too. But I'm sure with the help of my wonderful wife, and support from everyone here, we'll all come out...

What age were you diagnosed Type 1?

I look back (only four weeks so today), and I think to myself how damaging our high bloods (and kets) could have actually been to us and I also think how blasé we were before our diagnosis about eating and the automatic process our pancreas does for us. Ignorance is bliss eh

Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

I'm recently diagnosed at 42 yrs old -and I'm struggling with the why me aspect of it. I know it's an auto immune problem, and it's probably nothing I did to cause it - but still, why me? 300,000 in the UK out of 65 million have Type 1, but why me? Is it a common practise for people to...

What is the lowest your blood sugar has been?

I had the exact same thing (bg was 26, KET was 7). Doctors baffled. Weird.

What is the lowest your blood sugar has been?

I'm newly diagnosed and have had a couple of self treatable hypos, the lowest I've been was 2.8 (today as it happens) - and I had no symptoms during this latest one. Not one. I've had symptoms (cold sweat, headache, light head) with a 3.7 - so does that mean I had hypo unawareness there too...

    Hello!

Hi everyone. 42 yr old male here, recently diagnosed as Type 1 - being treated as such until my blood tests come back. Rushed to AE in early January 17' with sudden weight loss, incredible thirst and tiredness as well as severe stomach ache when standing up. Common symptoms I was since told...
