    Which would you choose.

I find this interesting as When I shop I tend to compare packets and go for the lowest carb option. Is there a way when comparing packs to say which one has lower GL? Is there something I can look for when making my choice in future?

    Long acting

Thanks I just wasn't sure if my nurses advice was right. They said they don't advise anyone to go to bed on less than 8. Isnt it weird that I've lowered it by 5 units already and still getting the same size drop

    Long acting

See if I go to bed less than 8 I know I would go low in the night. I get night time hypo fears! I'm also worried I'm gonna get a knock on effect in the day if I keep lowering it!

    Long acting

hi I have a question regarding my long acting insulin. Keep in mind I eat dinner early evening so that insulin has totally run out by bed time. And I've been doing it over a long period of time so it's not just a 1 off. Anyway I started off on 14 units and my bedtime was coming down by around...

    Reading food labels?

I think the muller Light yoghurts have up to 8 or 9grams of sugar depending on the flavour so maybe that cause the spike?

Low Carb no sugar Fairy Cakes

If it's any help I made these cakes today which looks like the same ingredients. It made 12 decent sized cakes. Although I added 70% dark chocolate choc chips so that bumped up the carb amount a bit. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/breads/r/lowcarbmuffins.htm

    Baking - help needed please.

I don't like almonds all that much but I use almond flour in baking, you can't tell at all. I recently made these. They're so delicious and wouldn't think they're low carb! I also have a 2 year old and she helps me make them :-)...

    Question for ladies!

Hi, I always make sure I have dinner atleast 4 hours before bed so there's no quick acting in my system. It's my long acting that brings me down around 2-3 mmols over night. I've queried this with my nurse and she says you'll never get it perfect and they prefer patients not to go to bed with...

    Question for ladies!

I agree with this I started seeing my nurse once a month about a year ago and we went over my diaries in great detail. I still see her once a month but now I go in with my own opinions of what needs doing and I feel way more in control. I just like the peace of mine I get from discussing it with...

    Question for ladies!

Yes I'm type 1. It's true no one understands as they don't get that any tiny thing can affect it so much. Not to mention the physical and emotional impact it has on us from day to day. From what I hear about the pump it really sounds like it would be helpful to you. It such a shame they won't...

    Question for ladies!

I'm 26. I went on the DAFNE course a year ago too. That makes no sense as I keep hearing the pump is for people that, no matter how hard they try, can't get their A1c down. I think it's if they can't get it below 8.5. What a1c's do you tend to get?? I've actually been put forward for a pump...

    Question for ladies!

No I get no support from anyone other than my nurse at the hosp. I've been diabetic 15 years but only started to take it seriously last year or so since I had my little girl. I diary absolutely everything to try and fine tune it. That's why only past few months I've realised it stays abit high...

    Question for ladies!

    Question for ladies!

Just curious, I've noticed for afew days leading up to the time of the month my sugars tend to run abit higher than I'd like. Not drastically higher they just don't return as low as id like, even with correction doses. Do other ladies have this issue and what do you do about it??
