Would they let me have a dexcom?

So currently on the Freestyle Libre 1. Really has helped me control my bloods better. Not perfect as I'm still finding what effects my bg levels and when to inject for certain foods. Normally inject 15 minutes prior to eating but if I'm having wholegrain carbs I tend to have it after I finish...

Levels tend to rise towards bed time.

Thanks for the reply guys. Yes, my blood glucose tends to rise even if I don't have my evening meal. I told my dietician this and instead of splitting it, she recommended that I switch to another basal insulin that can be split. I know lantus doesn't last 24 hours but I'm worried to attempt to...

Levels tend to rise towards bed time.

Got my ratios correct. 2:10 breakfast, 1:10 lunch and dinner. Breakfast readings and lunch are fine. Pretty much no change in levels pre meal.and 2 hours after. So dinner.. Let's say I have 4 units for 40g of carbs. Bloods before dinner read 7.0, 2 hours later 7.2. 3-4 hours later? 8.2 then...

My Freestlye libre is definitly faulty

Not 100% sure. It wouldn't be so bad if it was 1 or 2 off but it's a massive 3-6 levels difference. I might leave scanning the rest tonight or once every 8 hours and use my glucose machine to see if that will help the sensor sort it's self out. Never had a issue with the previous one.

My Freestlye libre is definitly faulty

Before we begin I know the Libre reads 15 minutes behind and is not always 100% accurate compaired to a glucose blood machine since it doesn't measure the glucose in your blood but we are talking a massive difference here. So put a new sensor on yesterday evening, followed the instructions...

    Wholegrain carbs

So gone much healthier this past month and love wholegrain rice for dinner. Tonight I had 2 boiled eggs, mixed vegetables, spring onion, tomatoes and wholegrain rice. Total carb count was about 70g. I always find that I drop quickly within the hour until I can pretty much be below 4.5 and then...

    What should I do?

Ordered one and should get it Wednesday. Was using a humapen savvio and had to fiddle getting it in. Apparently has a 102% accuracy so a tad more insulin than the all-star but not alot to make a difference but still The wrong pen. Ordered the right one anyway and use to have the all star pro but...

    What should I do?

I've just ordered one. I was using a humapen since my other lantus pens broke and didn't have one due to moving. Got a all-star pro request in but heard that even though the humapen savvio isn't made for a 3ml lantus cartridge it still does the job. Just need to fiddle with it abit more to get...

    What should I do?

Thank you Mark. You're probably sick of seeing me here ahaha. You've been very helpful. Going to take your advice and correct any high at breakfast if I did miss out.

    What should I do?

So tonight, blood glucose levels were stable and just went to inject my basal insulin. Did a quick test of 2 units to make sure the insulin comes out of the needle tip. When to inject and not sure what happened but maybe half way it just went quick like the chamber wasn't alligned firmly behind...

Trying, really trying with my ratios.

10pm every night. 20 or above units causing me to go into a hypo, 18 is nearly enough. Worked the numbers and 19 seems the way for me. Woke up this morning with a 3.4 reading on 20 units and went to bed with a 6.7 reading. Apprently 4-7 before breakfast is a good indicator that my basal is...

Trying, really trying with my ratios.

Thanks guys. Well I think I got my basal right. 19 units seems the sweet spot for me. And maybe you're right. Instead of waiting 15 minutes to eat after injecting, maybe I need to inject then eat after 5 minutes or so. This m8ght help reduce the sudden drop and prevent the slow climb. Going to...

Trying, really trying with my ratios.

As I you can see below I can't understand my ratio. Been trying for weeks to get a consistent level and it either climbs shortly after dinner or tanks. So breakfast today I had 2:10 ratio and correction dosage (2 units = 1 correction since 2:10 ratio). So I had 40g of crabs, 10 units (8u for 40g...

Love the Freestyle Libre. It saved my life.

Early days I know but I've had really bad control throughout my life(diagnosed at 12, 28 now). Easily going into the 20+ range and eating everything from Doritos, drinking 1 litre of coke a day, eating chocolate and injecting dangerous amounts of insulin because I felt high. Wouldn't take my...

    Type 1 These readings ok?

Sorry for the late reply. Since bad control in the past I tend to have symptoms of a hypo if I drop below 5(4.8). I'm still adjusting slightly everyday and tend to be around 6-8 on average. I use to hit 20+ earlier this year but havent gone over 15+ For 3 weeks. If my bloods go below 5 they...

    Slow climbing readings between meals.

Thank you and I tend to not really have much carbs. Like for dinner tonight I'm having a total of 20 carbs with a saldad and eggs. My blood levels due rise if I dont have a meal. In the morning it can rise from 6.6 to 10.5 within 1 hour of waking up but I heard thats due to liver dumping glucose...
