    Medtronic 780g + Guardian 4

After my original post last year things eventually got better with the sensor and pump. Not best but better. So i learned to live with it. Having trouble the last few sensors with it requiring a calibration every 6 hours, 6h 5min to be exact. Has anyone else had this issue and how do I fix it...

    Medtronic 780g + Guardian 4

Hi Shell. I haven’t posted for a long time but I went from a 640 to a 780 with CGM in June and I’m in the 0.01% which can call it a nightmare! I loved my 640 which was my first pump and couldn’t believe how smooth running it was after 22 years on MDI after getting all my basal patterns set. So...

    Type 1'stars R Us

Gday Chris85. Many years ago I had a bit of drama a few times with blood sugars way out of control. Normally pretty good but went haywire. I wondered if I was becoming insulin resistant as I was having huge doses of insulin and even not eating anything sometimes to see no change in bloods at...

Evening guys and gals. Been on the exercise wagon for the last couple weeks (not that I need it with our manual labor regime out here) but thought I should have a go coming into Xmas. Low low low. Talked to the educator in the city where I go, she suggested temp basaling to 70%. After a week I...

Once was a pleasure, now it is a walk through hell

Hi mate welcome to the forced club. Been part of it for 23 years. But have been part of this club here for 18 months and have learnt more from here than the previous 21.5 years I was type 1. Lots of great info on here which is much more informant than you could ever research. Probably don’t jump...

    Square bolus 640g

@Dabeast that makes sense. Exactly what it would’ve been. Was around 10 so although it would have been a small correction it still wanted it up front. Cheers for that, knew there’d be a reason.

    Square bolus 640g

Yeah definitely. Christmas is a doozy for us type 1’s. Although I haven’t had to use a square on Xmas yet as the nuts and bolts and pudding and custard well and truly counteract the hypo spikes!

    Square bolus 640g

@Juicyj always use the pump. Have never had the requirement to use the meter. Last I used the square bolus was late last year at my daughters friends 6th birthday and I dialed up what I thought I’d eat over two hours and just ate away and bgl worked out to be perfect. Not sure why it was greyed...

    Square bolus 640g

Hi @Juicyj yeah never a good thing. Sugar levels all over the place the last week but normally pretty good so I’ve put it down to stress/emotion etc. Yes I have both square and dual turned on, actually double checked that today in case it was off but definitely on. Have used it a couple of time...

    Square bolus 640g

Hey guys. Haven’t used square bolus very often since I’ve had my pump. Buried my grandmother today god bless her and at the wake I thought I’d use a square bolus as there were all sorts of canapés offered. However when I went to use it, it wouldn’t allow it, the “square” was greyed out. No...

    Pump Upgrade

Sorry about that. I thought you were talking about basals. I’m with you on the different bonus counters. Carb ratios for different basal patterns is what I would like to see as at the moment night shift pattern has to use day shift carb ratios and it would be handy to be able to adjust it...

    Pump Upgrade

Hi mate, can’t comment on the 670 sorry but the 640g has several different basal patterns available. I have one for day shift, night shift and at home on days off. Each one is significantly different of course (actually just trying to sort out a bit of a problem on the night shift pattern at the...

Sure makes me jealous Marie 2. @sportyboston I’m in CQ as well mate. The family and I have just spent the last two weeks over in the NT checking out Alice and Ayers Rock. I thought I knew hot till we went over there. 42.6 in the shade was the best reading I found. 9% humidity, 4% in Camooweal...

Lantus to Levemir: in need of encouragement

Hi @Leeannea. Also in Aus. Until 2013 I was on Humalog NPH. The hypos were few but very savage when they hit. Saw a different endo by total accident at an appointment (I travel 3 hrs to see an endo), and he asked why I was still on ‘90’s technology. He politely told me to get with the program...

If you were away from home without your hypo kit...

It’s funny what you can get hold of with no hypo equipment. Once I was really really low and out on the farm, almost crashed my bike. Too far from the house, no phone, laid there thinking this was it then something made me crawl through the barb wire into the neighbour’s sugar cane paddock...

Weird levels today ? sick ? flu jab ?

In aus too, have the flu vax every year and can’t say I’ve seen any difference over the years. As @JoKalsbeek said it’s much more of a roller coaster with the real flu. We copped it last year and I had about 2 weeks of everything from 21’s to 2.1’s. was using approximately three times the daily...

    Very high Dawn Phenomenon...

Must be that time of the year. I’ve been getting high DP the last 10 days too, have been pumping for 14 months and never had DP before this, except on rare occasions which I put down to overnight hypos (woke up with a bleeding headache)!!! The only thing I’ve changed is I’ve started exercising...
