    Reducing metformin

I wanted to at least try a month in reduction, should I see 12 or above more than 7 days in a row I would go back on them straight away. I dropped back into 7s after my walk and breakfast, I’m not going to die with a few days of high levels, I went a year not knowing I was diabetic, with levels...

    Reducing metformin

Hi guys, just wondered who reduced or came off metformin, and when you started the levels where higher than usual. I’ve just started on 1 metformin in a morning and one at tea time, I was on 4 a day before. I understand the metformin has been helping, I eat low carb even though I hate it :( but...

Thanks guys I appreciate the replies. Don’t think I’d want taking off as a non diabetic because it will always be laying dormant and ready to hit me if I change my habits

So I’ve had my yearly review, I’ve had my metformin reduced to 1 tablet twice a day, if my levels stay what they are then she said on my next yearly review she will take me off all tablets and change my records as non diabetic! Quite confused they do that as I will always be diabetic but anyway...

    From cornplaster to remission

Absolutely amazing work from you, congrats and it’s great to see you are now doing so well. I read somewhere that doctors don’t approve of the low carb diet or trial it because most people can’t sustain it for the remainder of their lives and don’t get all the nutrients they should have from an...

Is timing of Metformin intake important?

My personal experience: When I was diagnosed in the hospital and given metformin, they just gave them me in a morning, and same at tea time, would usually be before food came round. I carried on for months doing this but after testing noticed my sugars wouldn’t come down. After a while of doing...

    Metformin with red wine!

It’s entirely up to you if you want to drink, I drink vodka when I drink, and lots of it [emoji23] I’ve never liked wine so can’t comment on that. I think someone asked this question about beer or lager a while ago. Just be mindful and keep an eye on your sugars, annoying having to check when...

    Lo dough

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone has tried lo dough before. I ordered the tortilla wraps. I’ve got a cheese flan in the oven and smells amazing, I do miss crusts on pies so hoping this will satisfy me if just a little.

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

I think everyone’s experience on low carb is different, for me, I will be honest, I hate it but I accept it. I’ve tried loads of different meals, online, in books and nothing satisfies me.Even the look of the food on the plate looks boring no matter how colourful. alternatives only last so long...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

I love this post, I think you and many others including me have felt this frustration. And if you want to have a tantrum, **** it have one. ( I have had many) I totally get you when you say, some foods just go together. When I want a Sunday dinner, nothing triggers me more than someone showing...
