    Statins and Raised blood sugar

I am on pravastatin and my latest blood test has shown that my HB1AC has risen. Looking at the side effects on the label it appears to be potentially one of them. Has anyone else had issues with statins like this?

Blood sugars up looking for answers

I have just come back from the doctors with my latest blood results, which are worse than I feared. The doctor has been trying me on different statins to help lower my cholesterol, which was as high. I seem to have issues with them causing side affects, so the latest one pravastatin seems to...

    Morning High's of 8ish

The thing is I DO excercise loads, go to the gym, box and cycle. Eat very low carbs so that is why I am puzzled about morning highs

More Control and how to achieve it

The only real issue I have is the high morning blood sugars. They are what I think are taking my overall HBA1C reading to 52. When I taking the readings through the day I am in the 'Normal range' of 4 to 8. I have tried suggestions that I have found online but none seem to make a difference...

More Control and how to achieve it

I have been diabetic for approx 3 yrs now and my overall control seems good during the daytime with Blood sugar readings within the normal ranges of 4 to 8. But my real issue is that my morning blood sugars are usually above 6.7 and its that which I could do with lowering. My last HBa1c was 52...

I am controlling it with diet, just concerned really that my last blood test went up from 49 to 53. I am willing to give most things a go, it's all about see what works for each person

I have been experiencing higher than normal morning blood sugars since I have been put on the 10mg Pravastatin. I see from the leaflet that it can raise your sugars but my doctor says he isn't that concerned because the benefits outweigh the slightly higher blood sugar readings. My typical...

    BL Meters

I have seen the control solution on amazon / ebay, but I will send an email to the manufacturer and see what they say. The problem is that I am stuck with what the doctor / diabetes centre in the UK give me. I can't afford to be buying my own strips / machine

    BL Meters

I have been given a new meter a verio one touch by my GP, the previous one worked fine but they decided to give me this new verio one touch as it had new features. I have been using it for past few months but I am concerned that it isn't that accurate. I have had a few occassions when I thought...

    Morning Highs

My cholesterol level was 7.2 last time so always a bit scared of eating more things like eggs. Although the statins that I am now on should help.
