    Dexcom vs xDrip

Hmm I wondered if that would happen. You have to log in so they can see if you've bought a receiver. When my receiver dies I won't be replacing it at £600 or so. Of course the upcoming G5 won't need a receiver but will connect to a mobile anyway.

    Yes, just like the Dexcom.

    Dexcom vs xDrip

Is that a TicTac box? Very neat I've been using the Dexcom for around 18 months & the xDrip app & box for about 4 months & can't praise them highly enough. I really wouldn't want to go back to life without a CGM. Like you, I've found very little difference between the xDrip app & the Dexcom...

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

I use an Android app that I've developed over several years. It records blood glucose, carbs, exercise & suggests a bolus, recording the dose I inject. I'm confident something similar will be added to the xDrip app or NightScout which will be able to use my CGM data & I'll move over to that...

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

Sorry I've done very little with this. I've been logging data on Nightscout to test using that with my neice monitoring me from 180 miles away. I also log with my usual software. My intention was to enter a few days retrospectively into SpotOn but though a different time can be selected, it...

That's right of course, but easier said than done when your body is saying "eat, eat, EAT"!

Update Model just took a few seconds on my Moto G. Only a day or so of data though. More will be entered!

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

It hadn't occurred to click the Predicted Value in 4 hours! So is the "Value in 4 hours" the predicted Bg 4 hours from "now"? I had assumed it was 4 hours from the last meal. Mid way through this morning someone gave me a coffee with sugar rather than a sweetener. I later entered this by ticking...

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

A few thoughts so far: Could you explain what the variables are in the Bolus Wizard formula? I keep using the Android "Back" button expecting to go back to the previous screen within the program but it exits. Easy enough to restart but a little irritating! Not sure how to use "Missed Entry"...

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

Hi. This is an interesting project. I've downloaded the app & set up my model - I think you need to add a help file to explain the model set up or perhaps an instructions post here on the forum. I'd like to see a prediction at say 15/30 minute intervals with a graph to make it more interesting...

    CGM/GM Price Comparison

There does seem to be something of a postcode lottery when it comes to funding. I was reading a message the other day where the poster said it was quite common in her area for both pumps & CGM. She lives in Southport..

I added a QI wireless charger to my most recent build of the xDrip box. The 1200mAh battery takes about 4 hours to charge & lasts around 3.5 days.

    xDrip Bgs on my phone

I don't have the technical knowledge to contribute but it's an interesting idea. Perhaps join the Facebook pages, Nightscout UK & CGM in the Cloud where I've seen people discuss something similarish. Also you might find this technical discussion of the Wixel code & wiring...

CGM is the most effective method for monitoring and treating diabetes

I don't see how anyone who has "actively" used CGM could argue that it is not effective. This does include understanding it's limitations, & the limitations of blood test meters. In the case of Dexcom/Medtronic you also need to learn how to calibrate properly. Used well, it is a superb tool. I...

This website may be of interest, especially if you have young children with diabetes. http://www.glicoitaly.com/en/department/58/LIBRE,-DEXCOM,-OMNIPOD-Arm-Band.html (I have nothing to do with the company by the way, but saw it mentioned in a Facebook group.)

    CRACKING UP!!! Please help.

You've already made a big step forward by deciding to sort this out - well done you. Your readings for morning & lunch time are good! Even the high you are having isn't disastrous so you can give yourself a pat on the back. What do you eat for lunch? It may be that you need to increase your...

Freestyle Libre Poll - Have you had a skin reaction ?

I'd have thought that there would be more votes. Perhaps the thread title should include the word "Poll"? Also it might get more response if it was "pinned" near the "Freestyle Libre on Sale!!" thread? I don't have a Libre but I am a very interested observer.

Does anyone have severe mood swing could it poss be Lantus causing the mood changes

I use Lantus. An intermittent "drugged up feeling" sounds familiar. I also find that it takes me a lot longer to recover from a moderately busy day than I think it should. Whether the Lantus is responsible I don't know..
