    Hypo Warning Signs

My early warning sign for a hypo is a visual disturbance. I get a small area of "shimmering" in the centre of my vision. Anyone else see this? It's a little confusing as this is also how migraines begin for me. However if it is a migraine the disturbance then spreads outward to the periphery...

    Extending Dexcom G6 Sensors

I bought a bottle of Skintac from the US which will probably last the rest of my days.

    Dexcom G6 with t:slim X2 and xDrip+

Yes I was very excited to get my pump & then again when Basal IQ came out. I get about 18 to 20 days from a sensor. In the early G4 days it was nearer a month but it did gradually reduce. Time will tell how long "You" will get - some people struggle to get to 10 days.

    Dexcom G6 with t:slim X2 and xDrip+

Yes, it's ridiculous really, but 2 hours can feel like a very long time! Not sure I fancy joining the Borg, but I do feel like a cyborg & apparently "Resistance is futile". Going back to the six monthly basal rate check, I think it probably applies more to people who are reluctant to make any...

    Dexcom G6 with t:slim X2 and xDrip+

It's a tricky one. I suppose that if you are doing a fasting basal rate test then Basal IQ could change your results. If it has been activated then it is stopping insulin delivery. That lack of basal insulin can have still an effect later on perhaps causing a "false" rise which might wrongly...

    Extending Dexcom G6 Sensors

Useful page about the various Dexcom transmitter versions: https://seemycgm.com/2019/08/01/restarting-dexcom-g6-sensors-updated/?fbclid=IwAR1VTiW8fNjmneyIV-rhx4I0fxwx1m8a5MoQdoC-Vt-BWLZj_GYgnzJ_gak

    Dexcom G6 with t:slim X2 and xDrip+

    1. You don't need the Dexcom App. 2. I use xDrip+ to start, then on the pump you enter the transmitter number, but don't need to enter the sensor number - I think you "Skip" This means you do the 2 hour warm up on xDrip+ then the pump just sort of "joins in" after it gets some readings. I...

    Extending Dexcom G6 Sensors

@Capt-Slog I've never had any skin issues with any of the sensors I've tried. One thing you should be aware of is that from what I've read, restarting sensors is more difficult with the latest Dexcom transmitters with serial numbers 8Gxxx. Presumably you will get one of these. People are trying...

    But that's not Sharp!

Insulin vial in the bin - make sure it's empty. Like you I pull the needle out of the inserter with pliers, then the remainder of the plastic inser in the recycle bin. I agree about the Dexcom inserter. It works well but is so big. I once tested a Medtrum cgm & the inserter was a fraction of the...

    Tandem t:slim X2 is fantastic.

@Capt-Slog How has it been since that first night?

    Pump Upgrade

    There's a good description of Control-IQ here: https://diatribe.org/tandem%E2%80%99s-control-iq-hybrid-closed-loop-algorithm-submitted-fda

    Pump Upgrade

The Tandem t:slim has been available in the UK since about January. I've had mine since March. The Control-IQ upgrade is expected in the USA by the end of the year. Here we will have to wait but we did recently get the Basal-IQ update which attempts to stop/reduce the severity of hypos. I'm...

    Pump Upgrade

I love my T:slim X2 but without a CGM you wouldn't get the best out of it. You can store several profiles - 16 basal intervals over a 24 hour period - so you could have different ones for individual days. Sorry - rereading your question, you would still have to switch manually between these...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

I think the longer insulin activity settings are more about avoiding the problem of "stacking" insulin. If it's too short the algorithm assumes there is no active insulin on board when in fact there is. Studies have shown that insulin hangs around in our bodies for much longer than people think...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

That graph certainly looks better! Looking at your parameters I wonder if your insulin activity time is a bit short? I know that the various DIY loop developers recommend 5 hours or longer. I think the new Control IQ for the Tandem T:slim uses 5 hours. Just a thought.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Unfortunately this seems to be an all too familiar story judging by the messages I've seen across various forums. Such a shame.

    Lantus to Levemir dosing conversion

Several years ago I changed to Levemir from Lantus & found I needed a lot more. Like @urbanracer, once I found the correct dosage Levemir was a big improvement over Lantus.

    Basal-IQ

There are quite a few around the country but I'm the only X2 user at my hospital. I haven't come across any yet on this forum. There is a British Facebook group: Tandem t:slim Insulin Pump UK And a much larger American Facebook group: Tandem tSlim Pump Both worth joining.

    Basal-IQ

@Capt-Slog It may be better to get used to the pump without the G6. I had to because the G6 update didn't come out until September 30th. Having said that I would definitelyrecommend moving to the G6 before too long. In the meantime your MiaoMiao will be invaluable for getting your pump settings...

    New insulin pump

@Paulgn1 I use a Tandem T:Slim X2 which works with a G6 CGM. Have a look at my Basal IQ thread if you are interested.
