Am I allowed to rant? Diabetic consultant...

Unfortunately you never get the samended advice twice. Lower the basal up the bolus, next visit, lower the bolus up the basal. Always a different Dr. At least it's some advise. Years ago it was . "How are you"" if you said "ok" it was right then, see you in twelve months. It's a wonder most...

Question on handling postprandial hyperglycemia. (26.01.2016)

I think the guidelines are an impossible target achievable only if you are on an extremely low carbon regime. The levels they expect are almost non diabetic level. After 36 years trying there is no way I could ever achieve it. I tend to Er on the high side with my bolus dose knowing you can...

    Eye surgery

I have had a cataract removed from my right eye 5 years ago, it did improve my vision for a while but quickly deteriorated again. But I do also have retinopathy and macular oedema as well. Wavy lines can be an indication of macular oedema or macular degeneration so I would certainly...

    dvla eye test query

I went nearly thirty years without field tests. Generaly, think you are only refered for one if any changes in your eyes are picked up at annual reviews. I now have one every year and have to renew licence annually.

    Eyelea

Hi @NinaB73. Re Eylea. I posted a few weeks ago asking same question after being moved on to eyelea after some 50+ plus jabs of lucentis, but had no replies. Looks like we're the only ones on this forum. I had my third injection last week, like you said very slow burn, in fact my sight seems...

Trying to get steady glucose results

My levemir dose was split a few years ago. Generally I take 18 units between 9-10 at night and 14 units 12 hours later, and usually wake with bloods between 4-10. This ratio seems to work for me. End results can vary depending on BG at bedtime of course. If my night bloods are high I will...

Been type 1 for 35 years and know exactly how you feel. After nearly in tears at a clinic appointment. The Dr asked if I would consider seeing a clinical phycologist. After the initial shock of thinking I must be going loopy, I agreed. After the first appointment and explaining how I felt and...

    DVLA VISUAL FIELD TEST

I think you are allowed a couple of misses. I have field and number plate tests annually. If you have failed they will be in touch very quickly. Like Tuesday. If you've passed likely to be longer so generally no news is good news. Best of luck.
