I think most of us have done that @hh1, and the highs feel horrid too. Yup, we know the can’t do diabetes days too. I hate being high, and the relief when bloods come down again and I feel better again. It must be wonderful to be ‘normal’, non T1. Hope today’s better. Let’s have a communal...

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

That’s good to know @JaneC, I was getting a tad concerned that Libre 1 would be discontinued sooner rather than later, especially as it seems to have become more accurate.

Lots of sympathy from me for your thumb @urbanracer, infections are painful and also when something like that happens we realise just how much most humans depend on two fully working thumbs. Not having a useable thumb means every attempt to pick things up and manipulate them, the key’s in the...

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

At the risk of taking this away from discussion of Libre2 and watches, does anyone know how much longer Abbott plan to continue the manufacture of Libre 1? I hate the thought of dumping a system that works really well and isn’t broken (yet - have to add that yet as a small homage to a fear of...

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

What derailing? It was all relevant to my skipetty-hopping brain.

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

I’ve just had a google and it looks to my swift gaze as though the only way to link a Libre 2 with a watlaa is through a bubble. Maybe I’d better order one now. @Antje77, you may have given the solution in your first post. Thank you.

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

Thank you everyone, lots of information. I’m not very tech with all the apps and I really don’t want to have to cart my phone around all the time so I’ll probably try to keep going with Libre 1 for as long as I can. It would be great @Antje77 if watlaa brought out a waterproof version soon...

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

I use it with a misomiao so will look into bubble.

    Standalone watch for Libre 2?

Has anyone discovered a standalone watch that can link with the Libre 2? It seems that those of us who use the Libre are gradually bing moved to the Libre 2 and having set up a system with the watlaa and a Libre 1 that works well I see not having a similar system in place with a Libre 2 as a...

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

Yes, Matt, sorry, I said I didn’t want to derail. I’ll start a new thread about watches etc. As I said before, the libre’s a game changer, it could take away a lot of the fear about a nighttime hypo like your last one happening again.

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

I’m still researching what’ll work. I think there’s an Apple Watch that might but it’s hard to find the info. There are, apparently, apps that can help with a watch link, but the Abbott Libre 2 information on his is scant. There’s a Libre 2 LibreLink app, which helps, but I really want a...

Mornin’ all. More sun, more birdsong. Thank goodness for the garden, it doesn’t stay still, always something different there. I spent part of yesterday beginning to dig into the base of a raised bed that husband’s constructed the frame for. It’s on a little used patch of grass. He said he’d...

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

Am I the only one who wants to stay with the system I’ve set up to work well with Libre 1 (standalone watlaa watch with alarms and calibration, librelink app to send results to consultant) rather than move to a Libre 2? I don’t want to derail this thread, or put you off Libre 2 Matt, the Libre...

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

Hope you were in good numbers this morning. T1 can occasionally throw its toys, shoes, pots and pans, wheelbarrows out of the cot; I have a link from the Libre 1 to a watch that vibrates if bloods go low, it’s a game changer. I think there’s a more expensive watch that the Libre 2 will link...

COVID vaccine and extremely high blood sugars

@ glitter queen I’ve also found the one that was referred to in the brief webmd report; it goes into more detail and looks at what might be causing blood sugar rises. I think one of the things that may have come out of these early studies is that we need to keep our blood sugars well controlled...

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

Hi Matt, lots of good ideas from the others. I agree that a Libre 2 and basal testing are a good idea, it gives a rough idea of whether a basal dose needs adjusting. A rough idea because there are other things that can affect nighttime, and daytime, bloods. Just out of interest which basal...
