NovaRapid & after meal blood spikes

I found the same thing happened to me when I was taking NovoRapid. It worked well for the first few years and then it seemed to lose its power. I notice Omnipod Dash is approved to use both Fiasp and Lyumjev; both have an action time that begins 5 minutes after the bolus is given. Some find that...

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

Looking from the outside in, that’s the conclusion I’ve come to but it’s invaluable to read the experiences of people like you who are now looking from the inside out. Looking out from the inside? Looking in from the outside? I think I’ve just about decided - now looking at how to make a...

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

Yup, those are the choices. And yes, the pre-loaded PDM the hospital provide for omnipod is HUGE, so that makes it a no-no, which is a shame. And no sign yet of a PDM download for ios.

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

Thank you. I put in a search request for simplera sync & app but should have known that internet algorithms aren’t as bright as humans. (With ever growing use of AI, I suspect the best gift I could leave my grandsons is a couple of allotments and a few goats and chickens. Maybe lessons from...

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

Just answered my own question. Silly old biddy didn’t look hard enough on the net. Yes, apparently there is a simplera app

Bye the way, that hairy black lump looks decently snuggle-scruffy, a very good look.

    Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

Hi @searley, Can I ask you a question about the simplera? I’m trying to choose between four, yes four hcl pumps: I know I’m lucky, but I’m feeling a tad lost and looking for user information. Can you get a direct reading from the simplera via an app or do you need to go to it via the Medtronic...

    Travelling - North Africa region

I’ve successfully used my method in Jordan and included a cooling pack - the interior of a frio can get warm when the air that evaporates the water is above 35C

In hot places I place the frios in an insulated lunch bag

Oh, and another thing, a travel kettle and tea bags. Lots of the local cafe tea, such as mint tea, usually has sugar added in the brewing. Same with coffee. The words for ‘without sugar’ are useful.

    Travelling - North Africa region

What a wonderful opportunity! If it were me, I’d check up on all the immunisations I need and make sure I get them in time. I’d also pack a reusable water bottle that kept water cool so I could decant bought water into it. As far as Type One is concerned: frios for the Novopens and insulin plus...

Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

By the way, if you’ve not already done so, have a look at the Type 3c section of the forum: quite a few people on there who’ve had (chronic) pancreatitis for quite a while.

Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

Good morning. Is there an NHS urgent treatment centre that you could go to? I ask because I had a medical problem and couldn’t get an appointment, even though it was clear that the problem would get worse without treatment. An urgent care GP sorted it. I then switched to a different GP...

Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

Are you prescribed something for pain relief? Do you have a DSN you can ring? Have you been given specialist dietary advice? I know these are basic questions but ‘no’ answers suggest you need to raise a complaint. It seems that there’s lots of dietary advice on the net that originates from...

Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

Are you in the U.K.? If you are, could you ask your GP to refer you to a pancreatic centre? There seems to be a lot of info here, but you’ve probably already read it all. And if your GP isn’t proactive, could you look for another Practice that is...

Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Pancreatitis

Hi @Rleady1357, I’m sorry to hear that. I’m also not surprised to hear that you’re feeling burnt out, and helpless. Have you got good care from a GP or clinic? Have you been given any advice about how to live with it? Our immune systems really are the pits, aren’t they, as if it isn’t enough...

    Type 1 Diabetes Management

@ Callum Brown, Your waking blood sugars are amazing! Mine can vary from day to day, and even though I do basal tests and seem to have fixed the long-acting, for now, there’s a multitude of stuff that affects my insulin needs. 54 years of trying to be a beta cell has been, on occasion...

Could this be a game changer?

It really does sound fantastic, but the research is in the early stages. Just hope it’s completed before I pop my clogs.

    Useless Gp appointment

Elena P has some good advice @shanny1996. I’d add that you should tell the people where you stay (you don’t say where that will be) about your Type One and give the desk staff a printout of what they should do should you have a bad hypo. You could maybe use google translate to make a Spanish one...
