Freestyle Libre 2 to become real time continuous glucose monitor in UK from mid July 2023

Yes @barrym I too can only see it when I go into the app. Was hoping it would be on the Lock Screen. Would it not start your old sensor. I just scanned mine and it worked. Just picked up where I’d left off.

Freestyle Libre 2 to become real time continuous glucose monitor in UK from mid July 2023

@Ushthetaff just click on the waves on the top right and you can then scan. @Rachox had this just the once but I had gone out to make a cup of tea and left it behind. I just scanned to reactivate.

    Libre2 and swimming

Ditto! Have mine covered permanently as I swim 3 times a week front crawl. Plus I never worry about knocking off. Change after a week if it’s starting to look scruffy.

Freestyle Libre 2 to become real time continuous glucose monitor in UK from mid July 2023

And it’s come up and I’ve done it. Had to re download the app so I too have lost the data on my phone grrr! All there on Libre Linc of course. Was worried I was going to have to put a new sensor on but it restarted this one phew! Of course you lose the 24hr TIR which is my little obsession. I...

My husbands phone has it but not mine yet. Still, next new sensor not due for over a week, so got time.

    Arm Monitor

More bashing on the head of Libre. So sorry it doesn’t work for some. However for people like me who have no issues, think it’s a great piece of kit and is critical to my Type 1 daily care I get so fed up with the negative comments.

    Phone

Didn’t believe this, but have just googled and found info. You have to be already able to use via phone and we will be informed what to do via email/ Libre Linc app. Week commencing 12th Hopefully for me it will be up and running for my next sensor change on Saturday week. Exciting! Had a few...

I just don’t have anything sweet. Can even eat rhubarb without.

    Tresiba Dosing

Have never consulted anyone about adjusting my doses and have been at this 10 years now. If I want to adjust I will. As regards Tresiba it is definitely an adjust and wait 3-5 days before adjusting again. If you can get to the sweet spot it’s a great insulin.

    Chocolate

I’d been slowly increasing 70 85 95% it was the next step. Couldn’t cope with anything less now. Mind you I don’t eat anything sweet these days bar fruit. Never went down the artificial sweetener route.

    I'm lost.

@sausage91 well done on the original weight loss and the giving up smoking. You have obviously been a very determined person in the past and am pretty sure you can be again. However, I detect a mild depression here along with high levels of parent induced stress. There will be help from your Gp...

    Cgm and mental health

People managed in the past with much more basic equipment. Your HBA1C is extremely low so if you want to ditch the CGM and it will make you feel more relaxed I would say go for it.

    Hypo feeling

As long as you are only on Metformin a hypo shouldn’t be on the cards. That is people on drugs that drastically lower levels and insulin users. What you have described is a perfectly normal reaction to lowering high levels when you have not had them for a while. Please do not indulge in high...

    Just a question

Perhaps you could say to her something like, ‘you seem to feel that I am a type 2 not 1, am I right? If so why do you think that?’ I bet she feels it’s because you are older and some professionals are still stuck in the past. As others have said it is very important to be under a hospital team...

    Doctors letter

If you are under the hospital clinic you should be able to get one for free from there. My consultant did one for me on my initial diagnosis nearly 10 years ago. I use the same dog eared one. NO ONE has ever asked to see anything!

    Do your finger pricks hurt?

Change hands each week on a Monday morning. Using the left to prick right is not so intuitive but not difficult at all. I change buttock each week for my once a day basal, legs and area of stomach. Today is change over day so left side this week.

    Kidneys

The truth is @Vince01 your son is 24 and getting tested is neither your decision or his mothers. Have you ever asked his opinion? I can see you love your son and would want to do anything to help. But the first hurdle is sitting with your son and having a discussion on his views.
