    Alternative sweetners..

Ok, you hit on one reason I've hesitated so far, to buy Erythritol. I also read/heard of the cooling taste like mint tastes. I don't like in anything, except I didn't mind it in a breath mint or gum when I used to have those. I think it Erythretol that is used in some gums now?? Anyway, I...

    Alternative sweetners..

Yes, definitely a personal taste thing ;) I will take a look at your links and thank you so much on the eyrithritol info as that one and the Monk fruit are so far what I may order, or purchase, whichever is easier for me ;)

    Alternative sweetners..

I haven't heard that name since my Grandmother used it for her diabetes. I just read about it and to be honest, I'm nervous about anything made in a laboratory. As a matter of fact, I haven't checked up on Erytheritol, or Xylitol on that either so I will. Thank you for bringing that to my...

    Alternative sweetners..

I appreciate your info as well Tricia. I have used Truvia in the past, but again, it has stevia in it so I wanted to find something without it at all this time around ;) You must like the Erythritol and Xylitol, has not negative side-effects for you, so I may try one or the other for myself as...

    Alternative sweetners..

Thank you for this suggestion, it's worth a try and we have a healthfood store here that most likely carries it :) Thank you again, I do appreciate it!! Denise

    Alternative sweetners..

..and hoping to find something other than Stevia since lately I'm really finding it to have an after-taste I don't like at all. Funny how I've used it for years, so wondering if my taste-buds are better since I've been doing Keto since Feb. 2021. I keep reading articles that say Erythitol and...

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

Yes, this is a definite thought this morning, to mention to my doc. Just to see if we can get some testing on that. Would Uric Acid have anything to do with numbness, or tingling as well maybe?? I'll avoid the meds if I can with some anti-inflammatory supplements. I hear good things about...

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

My grand-dad had it bad, and mom got some of it. My half-sister has osteo-arthritis so yeah, hadn't really thought of that. I don't have much so far, but best make sure I have enough anti-inflammatory foods/supplements.

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

I'll start looking at my protein intake again. I used to keep track of my protein, fats, and carbs in the early months but eat the same things, and amounts so I stopped. I do eat a lot of protein, but not sure if it's too much for me to be eating. My percentages are with Keto, or super close...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Yes, like Ellie said, I just didn't have high #s for long and doubt they ever went above a 7.4 or 154. I know our US #s are different than UK so still get confused but that's what my chart reads. I was so hoping that the tingling/numbness would subside and be cleared up with my Keto diet...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Hi and thanks @EllieM I will talk to my doctor and see if he still thinks a neurologist might be good for me to see. There is something going on as that one, big toe is still numb. Thank you for all the info, I do appreciate it :)

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Thank you much, I am writing down the other tests info as well so I can discuss with my doctor. I think he'll be open to the tests for me but it will depend on cost, and what my insurance will or won't cover. I do have some saved though and it would be worth it to me to find out as much as I...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Ok, well, maybe that's why I've had the "neuropathy" issues for several years in the left side of my left knee. Always wondered what that was. Also, I've read a lot about Insulin Resistance being present long before T2 is diagnosed. I don't know how that relates to LADA. I probably have T2...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Well, I'm inclined to think I had a stroke too even though nothing showed up. I did take the "jabs" the second one came 2 months to the day before the numbness so I don't really think that had anything to do with it, who knows though. Do you have any idea what might have caused your...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

Ok, I seem to have a hair-trigger for a temper these days and I apologize for snapping at you. Sometimes it's hard to tell online, where we are coming from, but I don't like my reply to you, the first one, so need to apologize. Ok, so just got off the phone, and I have to wait to hear back on...

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

but the foods etc. aren't the same, and with LADA you need "some" insulin isn't that true?? And besides that, the idiots we have for doctors didn't even tell me I was pre-diabetic so I thought my post was clearly letting people know I was sure I was diagnosed correctly!!

diagnosed with Type 2, but not sure now

I was diagnose with Type 2 Jan. 20th, of this year. So since February, when I got serious about my choice to do Keto, I have followed that diet strictly. My HbA1C tests have come down, as well as my daily tests, but I still have what I think are diabetic issues like numbness, tingling, and...

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

Hi again JoKalsbeek :) I didn't run super high before, and had the tests going on for past 6 years. I was in pre-diabetic range in 2018 but was not informed. At that time, I didn't have access to my online records, and wasn't smart enough to "ask" about seeing my labs myself. Now I am...

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

Hi @JoKalsbeek I get sharp little pains in different areas, but few and far between, not often. Mostly in my toes, or foot areas. As I told @EllieM I think they would be worse if I hadn't gotten my diet straightened out, and I also exercise pretty regular, keep moving. I have some other...

Been on Keto, Feb. will be 1-year

hi @EllieM Sorry to be so slow getting back on here. I do have my labs (HbA1c's) every 3 months or very close to ever since I was diagnosed. My numbers have been good on the last 2, and my home-tests are good but don't do them but once in awhile now as I eat a very, steady, boring diet of...
