Worried sick newly diagnosed type 1 child

Hi @doingitforbee Ellie was diagnosed in feb this year. We had taken her to the doctors with concerns over weight loss and extreme thirst, 24 hours later they were admitting her to hospital with dangerously high blood sugars. The nurses commented on the fact they hadn't seen a child so poorly...

Thank you @himtoo and @catapillar [emoji846] Ellie really liked the simplicity of the omnipod, she currently uses the freestyle libre and felt the two were very similar in terms of place on skin, click, go [emoji846]

DN is so on the ball! She'd already pre booked an appointment with the psychologist for October half term in the hope that Ellie would decide to go ahead with one! If that goes well then Ellie looks to be starting the pump in December just as schools break up for Xmas [emoji846]

So, the nurse has been. She Explained to Ellie (and us) how much easier things would be in the long run to be on a pump. She showed her 3 different options and let her have a fiddle around with them. Teddy even got to try them out [emoji23] Ellie has now decided she wants a pump as soon as...

So, we are entering our 8 month of our daughters diabetes journey. The last month or so has been a bit of a nightmare with high blood levels through the night and then even higher bloods 24/7 when she caught a nasty cold [emoji53]. The support we got from Ellie's DN was amazing. Following a...

    1st Day At School

My daughter is a little older at 10 but she was diagnosed in February this year and was back to school after just 2 weeks. Her DN held a meeting with all the school staff and explained Ellie's diabetes to them. She then held a further meeting with Ellie's teacher and school nurse/first aider...

    6 Month Review Since Diagnosis

Like you both say so many things could of caused it. Just a bit worrying when we've been able to control it before just not this time. Guess we'll just have to see what the consultant says later x

    6 Month Review Since Diagnosis

No sign of illness so far. No need to be sorry about the treat we've had words about that before but no treats this time. Your right about the honeymooning, she has been since 2 weeks after diagnosis. I'm starting to think it could be slowly coming to an end though as bloods have been...

    6 Month Review Since Diagnosis

Today is Ellie's 6 month review with her consultant at the hospital. Really not sure how this appointment is going to go as her bloods have not been behaving themselves recently. Unexplainable random highs that lead to correction doses or dramatic drops in blood levels (hyper to hypo in less...
