Yeah I read that on other forums people have found not taking it straight away when u eat has worked. These levels are very rare today, usually I'm double figs. I'll have a look at that, thank you

So just done it again and I'm 7.3. Least I'm coming down. Yeah that's where I get confused, I only took for he ryvitas and like for tea I'll have eggs on toast and I'll only take for the toast, it's when I have a meal of like bacon and eggs I never know how much to take

Ummm no I don't really take for protein. Maybe I'll try taking 1 next time for a tin of tuna or something?

See before lunch I was 6.2 ( lowest I've been in sooo long) then had for lunch 2 ryvitas and a tin of tuna, took 1.5 units as the ryvitas came to about 13g and I've gone up to 9.8. I ate lunch about 11.45 :(

Also am I allowed to exercise through the week when I'm doing all this or will that mess it up?

It's all day to be honest. I'll wake up high and always got to correct but corrections don't even work then even after lunch times I could eat like a tuna salad with yogurt and by tea time I'll still be like in the 9s/10s. Hopefully once I do all this basel testing I can see what's what. Sounds...

Fab thanks. I'm going to start tonight and do the night time testing through the night. I think once I I completed all this I'll upload the results incase I'm confused. I just can't believe the when I went on the DAFNE course they didn't teach it like this, they just told us to do a no carb...

Thank you, that is helpful :) Am I ok to do the test even if my morning readings are like 10 or so? Or only do it when they are at a normalish level?

Aw right I see. Ok I'll do it in chunks then. I don't really understand what I'm looking for each day to be honest. Just that I stay steady. Maybe I'll post the results up on here

Ok thank you. I might just do a all day just to see. How do I know if my evening one is correct though, what am I looking for through the night and what I wake up with. Thanks I'll have a look at that book. Sorry for all the questions it's just getting really frustrating now

So sorry just to understand say if I was to do it tomorrow ( hoping I'm not double figs in the morning) then would I still take my 9 lantus then not eat until lunch time then I can have lunch?
  15. L

    Type 1: I can't get my levels down :(

Yeah I take 5 lantus at night then 9 in the morning. The nurses said when I need to check if I'm on the right amount of lantus they just said to do a no carb lunch, I didn't realise it was all day. They aren't the easiest to get hold of that's why I've come on here see.

    Type 1: I can't get my levels down :(

Yep I changed my pens thinking it could be them but it's still the same. For corrections I was doing 1 brings me down by 3 but then changed it to 1 brings me down by 2 and that hasn't even worked. So with the Basal test I would wake up in the morning take my 9units of lantus and then not eat...

Hi, hope someone can help. My levels are constantly double figures all the time, Im on Lantus at night 5 units and I tested my background insulin at 3am and I was 8.9 and then when I woke up I was 7.9 ( went to bed night before being 8.0) so that is working. Usually I'm always waking up double...
