What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Nice @zzcanasta ! I picked up the Harvest Morn linseed you recommended from Aldi earlier. Do you have it with Greek Yoghurt most mornings then?

So now I know weetabix are out!

Yeah, no surprises there! I miss it massively at times. At university, I lived on the stuff - I would have 6 Weetabix in the morning and possibly 6 at nigh too, never thought anything of it! But now nearly all cereals are out of the question. Sad really as now and again I get the real urge to...

    High cholesterol. Hypothyroid. Type one!

So you should be taking some amount of insulin at every meal despite exercising afterwards?

    Feeling lonely

Morning @Michik, how are you feeling this weekend? It's good that you are here on the forum asking for support and reading the posts. It really does help because you realise that you aren't struggling on your own and that other people find it tough going too. I'm a teacher and two of my pupils...

    Running

I just have my meter, glucose tablets and cash with me. I use a cycling jacket because there are three pockets at the back so provides easy access if ever need glucose tablets/meter.

type one in young adults & adults.

Great idea. I met up with some type 1s on Thursday who eat LC and honestly it's was great to see other people test their glucose, talk about their experiences and learn really good tips from them. This forum is great but also having face-to-face meet-ups is also great, not just for information...

    Dexcom G5

Great, yes, I can see imagine it's addictive. It's the sort of thing you can geek out on and just want to see how different variables impact your glucose levels. How does it feel wearing it? Conscious of it being there?

    Insulin Types

Relax? Your posts are very confrontational if I'm honest. And yes I am a teacher - anything else you want to dislike? Recommended for better control and easier to adjust if doing sporting events like longer bike ride, 10k/half marathon runs etc as very active person. Being able to adjust Lantus...

    Insulin Types

@Samblease73 was recommended by some other experienced type 1s and my nurse was happy for me to do that.

    Insulin Types

Wow - I never realised that. Surely a different insulin would be much better if that's the case. I took NV about 2pm, walking home at 8pm. Surely would have been exhausted by then? Will reduce basal a little and see what happens.

    Insulin Types

@urbanracer - I don't honestly know but it's going to be at least 4 hours with low carbing, honeymoon and exercising this morning. I know it is cold this evening so walking back in the cold could impact it you say? Yes - thinking of reducing my basal to reduce the hypos. Might need to change...

    Insulin Types

Not on any pills. Well - I will take Novorapid to counter DP and then usually 1 unit of Novorapid for lunch. In the evening, I won't need a bolus because I'm running and would hypo indefinitely with the low carb way of eating.

    Insulin Types

It's happened a few times now - if I go running in the evening, or walked back before from the station I've crashed to the same sort of numbers despite no bolus on board. I feel like I'm hypoing too much now and something needs changed.

    Insulin Types

Hey guys - I'm on Lantus (split 5 units at night around 8pm and 2 units in the morning around 8am). I have NovoRapid for bolus but don't need it every meal because I'm low carbohydrate and also lots of exercise each week means I've insulin sensitive especially afternoon/early evening. I've also...

    Brilliant wrap replacement!

Also got a good frying pan so made it much easier. Made fajitas and honestly probably tasted better than the packet stuff you buy in the shop lol. Bit of this, bit of that in with the chicken makes it great! Definitely will be making again.

    Brilliant wrap replacement!

Made these tonight - I see what you mean by a little eggy but nevertheless very tasty. Just need to be patient in allowing them to cook properly and then they become much better!
