    Stress & sugars

Hi all - Just a quicky: Can stress really cause long periods of elevated sugars? I know stress does exacerbate things at times but sugars have been running at 18 for most of afternoon [emoji51] Finally coming down! Unsure if stress or dodgy cannula! TIA

Great advice @Snapsy - I used a temp basal of 130% after my 40 lengths y'day & it worked [emoji106] Thank you for that!

    Cannula site bad days

Glad your sugars have normalised @JimC. I also use the space just above my love handles [emoji12] @Snapsy - no spare tyre there [emoji106]. I always seem to rip mine out when I use my thigh!

    Freestyle libre and airport security

@TheBigNewt - I'm not sure as I also have s pump so I beep anyway. I haven't been through the body scanner due to having a pump. I think I pointed it out to security each time. [emoji2]

    Flying with pump

Hi @ashwilliaams - The others have covered everything u think. Just pop in flight mode before take off. I flew out of Gatwick a few weeks ago & they didn't even ask to look at my pump (whereas they did swab it when I flew in Oct). Inbound was the same. Have a good trip.

    Swimming

Hi @joanne75 - this happened to me this morning after a 30 minute swim. I had a quick correction but kept monitoring as I was then due to walk 2miles. I had forgotten about what @Snapsy suggested - thanks will try this next time[emoji106] How have your sugars been since @joanne75? [emoji2]

Low carb diet and bedtime bg readings

Hi @elation80 & well done on all you've done. [emoji106] I agree with @tim2000s as the Freestyle gives a clear picture of night time. Mine showed I was dipping low so I adjusted my basal & it's now okay. I often check mine around 3am to 'double check' which has been helpful. Hope you're getting...

    Insight - excellent customer service!

Roche were fab 3 weeks ago too when my insight handset wouldn't clear the famous 'E57 electronic error' message after 20 attempts! They sent me a new one the next day - really great customer service. Glad to hear you found the same @Snapsy. Hope all is okay now [emoji106]

    Type 1 and planning/having a family

Hi - I can't actually remember what my hba1c was I'm afraid as nearly 9 years' ago. I had a natural delivery. Ironically my daughter was nearly 10lb & I wasn't diabetic then! Agree with @Juicyj - the care I had was amazing. Good luck - I'm sure all will be fine.

    Disposing of Sharps Bins

Council also collect mine for free (they use phs) - they leave me a new one when they collect the old one. Your council should have a waste disposal system through the local council. Hope so - don't think you should have to pay [emoji51]

    Type 1 and planning/having a family

Hi @tia_ Like @azure - I had a healthy 8lb 7oz baby at 38 weeks. It was hard with constant scans & appointments & I was v meticulous abt checking sugars etc. All the best - it's exciting [emoji106]
