Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I know it's carbs, but whole meal doesn't cause spike as white. I lost so much weight so decided to have some carbs, and don't think I will be able to cope with having no carbs at all for the rest of my life. I only shop in Tesco or Sansburys. Nearest Lidl is at least 40 minutes drive.

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

Hi Grateful I am glad you are back. Some other members and myself did wonder if you were okay because you had not posted anything for a long while. Yes you remember me right I was diagnosed first day in November. Went straight to very low to no carbs and lost 18 pounds out of my just over 8...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

He is fine with me going low carbs. I am the one that do all the cooking anyway. I haven't really discussed low carbs with nurse I don't think she is any good to be honest. First meeting when she told me I've got diabetes, she said I can loose some weight ( I was just over 8 stones), change...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

Oh no nothing like that at all! My husband is really loving and caring. He knows how I hate needles and he doesn't think checking all the time is a good idea or necessary that's all. He doesn't want me to be obsessed with testing and worry all the time about bg..

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I know it might sound absurd but I'd rather to do things we both agree with. I wouldn't want to feel wrong when doing sth he thinks not right or necessary...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I am going to see a GP about my MOT blood test result by the end of this month. I will discuss about a meter again with her. DN pointed me to Diabetes.org.uk and I stumbled onto this website totally by mistake, but I found this website is a lot more informative, When I mentioned this website...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I can't agree with you more. Only if hubby thought the same way. He says he won't want me to prick my fingers all the times and get obsessed with it, and I have this fear of needles anyway. Nurse and GP said the same thing. I will persuade him and make him see the point. I wouldn't like to do...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I am like you in a way that thoughts of sth that I won't be able to enjoy for life make me miserable , but I can be revy discipline and stick with the rules. I have not had a white bread for 3 months, since day one of being diagnosed. I don't often crave for things, or not too often, but...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

No I haven't. Nurse, GP, even my husband all advise against it. I myself is not keen as I fear needles and blood, although understand that perhaps I should have one.

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

Thanks for your reply Guzzler.. so it's a no then :( . I would have thought that if I eat it really slowly my bg will raise really slowly too and won't make a big impact as if I gobble it down in a few minutes. I just had a whole meal slice with a boiled egg instead.

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

No I am not hungry at all. I never feel hungry in the morning. Just I love all things flour and carbs and not having any for months..., and this morning in bed smelling the toast from kitchen.. I had nothing but eggs for breakfast the whole month of November, and got tired of it. Move on to Oat...

    Burnout

I know how you feel, as for me , I was diabetic for only 3 months but the word has never left my mind. I live it, sleep it and of course eat it. When never I have time I search and read stuff about diabetes instead of other things I used to. I feel up and I feel down, of course more down than up...

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

Morning everyone, I am carving for a white slice of toast ( sourdough) with bovril this morning. Yes yes I know white bread is a killer and haven't touched one since diagnosed in early November. I am just wondering, that if I take time to eat it, say, 15minutes to consume that one slice, tiny...

    4 days from Diagnoses

Well done Vege you have done a lot and all the right things! I was diagnosed earlier in November and still have not have a courage to buy a meter yet. In my case, the nurse gave me a left let about Desmond course and I contacted them myself. So you might want to ask your nurse for that. Only...

    How to stop weight loss?

DN nurse said depends on result of my next blood test to decide whether I will need Metformin. I think that is why I try really hard to control my bg by dieting, not wanting to take medications for the rest of my life. Now with this weight loss there's a question if I am even type 2. Little I...
