Blood Sugars Ups and Downs Suspected Honeymoon

Do you generally have it well controlled?, T1 for 9yrs here & I still can't control it properly (hmm maybe I shouldn't post here incase I dishearten the op!), I find that there are just so many things that change BSLs that I can't keep up, my job doesn't help either.....

    The "winter" phenomenon

I was beginning to think I was the odd one out until you last 2 guys posted :) My BG levels go up in the Winter & down in the summer, I'm told it's because when the workshop gets so cold in the winter that blood flow retracts from the surface to a degree to retain body heat, so slowing down...

    Non invasive glucose moniting?

Oh awesome! :D I can't wait for those to come out!, my favourite is the Glucon watch. With constant montioring maybe I can finally work out what causes my random BG spikes, near impossible to control atm :(. Hmmm, any guesses as to when the NHS would be giving them out?? Or how much it's...

    car insurance

I once had an insurance company ask me how much insulin I took each day! Wth's that got to do with it?? Brava A mate of mine's an AA patrol man, he once asked why I didn't do it. I replied that my diabetes would get in the way too much (apart from I would hate the hours! ;)), having to stop to...

    Attitude of people around me

Can't say it's been the same for me, my health has been going downhill the past few years, although some of my problems are probably nothing to do with Diabetes, some I'm sure are, like being tired alot & getting cold easily etc. Still I find it near impossible to control it properly (BG between...

    Attitude of people around me

Except your 1st aider at work should know incase of problems. In my line of work I just can't keep quiet about it, if I go hypo they need to know why I've stopped working or had an early lunch. Customers don't like getting their cars late :P. I always wear disposable glovs anyway, but I guess...

    Attitude of people around me

There's so much that rings true here about other peoples comments here I'd swear you guys have been at my work! Btw I'm finding in more recent years that my hands & feet get cold really easily, (which is a right PITA considering I'm a mechanic & the place I work now keeps all the doors...

    BBQ invite - HELP!

When I eat out I take my novarapid immediatly after I've eaten the main course & Levemir before hand. Having said that I've never been taught how to carb count even after all this time,(& I'd probably forget anyway!) so my BG levels nearly always end up sky high after a meal out anyway! :( I'll...

I'd heard on the news he had type 2 (which I thought was odd), but anyway he had something like 8 injections a day, I can't do that! ;).Also I expect he knew how much exercise he was going to do for each training session or race, I don't for each days work. I do BG tests in the tea room;), on a...

Glad I'm not the only one who couldn't read it ;). Jamie I hope you manage to sort out your control, btw my memory is rubbish too I've managed to get into the habit of doing it from day 1 (late type 1 from 32yrs old).Almost anything that's not routine I tend to forget!, GL anyway :). Btw I...
