    Libre reader/phone app update

That thread seems to relate only to the reader and not the phone app.

    Libre reader/phone app update

I have read and seen adverts that you can now update your Libre reader and or your phone app to provide more accurate readings. Has anyone updated yet and if you do update can you continue to use the same sensor or do you need to start a new one.

    Libre and Finger pricking

As regular readers of this forum know, I have been self funding Libre now for over 3 years and very rarely finger prick now. When I do, it is only to compare readings with the Libre and they are almost always the same. I do not understand why those who use the Libre also feel the need to...

    Libre users.. help!

Don't be embaressed or ashamed to be seen using the Libre, it;s becoming more and more common to see people openly wearing them. Seen people wearing them on the beach in just their swimwear.

2 out of 10 Type 1's Meet Criteria for Flash Glucose Monitors

Lets be honest about this. There is only one reason why CCG's will not supply the Libre and that is perceived cost. They know and we know that Diabetics who use the Libre are far better controlled and cost the NHS far less in ongoing treatment. Because of the seemingly high cost of the system...

    Freestyle libre reliability

Used it for 3 years (self funding) never had a false reading or any reaction to using it except once about 2 years ago when I had a small blister where the "wire" went into my skin. Perhaps I'm one of the lucky ones who's body just accepts the sensor. When I compare readings between the sensor...

Opposite of me, my GP says my diabetes is too well controlled to get CGM !

    Can my GP prescribe libre?

To answer the O.P's question then, my G.P. said she can prescribe Libre, once the consultant has agreed to it being prescribed in the first place. The hard part is getting the consultant to agree to prescribe it !:)

    Can my GP prescribe libre?

Because the whole point about the ruling due to have come in on April 1st was that ALL CCG's had to follow the same rules and criteria and obviously they aren't.

    Can my GP prescribe libre?

I find it strange that even after 1st April, when all CCG's were meant to dance to the same tune, there are many differences in what various CCG's demand from patients.

Opinions wanted from fellow type 1's

Well I have to be quite honest here, I have been type 1 for 35 years now. At first everything about having diabetes bothered me. Now, I just get on with it, I don't let it run my life, I don't spend time worrying about it, I don't moan about it. My biggest complaint at the moment is the fact...

    Freestyle libre sensor

I still have not had a reply from my local (Northumberland) CCG board asking if they are accepting blood testing with the Libre as apposed to finger pricking as some CCG's appear to be doing, to qualify for NHS funding. Ithink they are ignoring me.

    Another libre thread ..

I don't have a reader anymore, I broke it so I just use my phone. It will start a new sensor no problem.

Good news for Libre users, I think

I've been self funding for over three years now and my average scans per day are about 16. My consultant says that does not count as the 8 + tests a day have to be finger pricks and not Libre scans. It seems that there is still a difference of opinion across the country as to what constitutes a...

The App had reset itself and was asking me to sign in. tried several times but kept getting "network error" I can...

    Latest Libre news

Whist the cost to the NHS for diabetes is about 10% of its budget, most of that is in treating type 2 Diabetes not type 1. I quote The current cost of direct patient care (treatment, intervention and complications) for those living with diabetes is estimated at £9.8 billion (£1 billion for...
