Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

I'm off down to the bright lights of Ramsey to get it soon, I'll see how big the loaves are. Mrs NHN will likely eat it too if there's too much, but it will make a nice change for lunch if I can handle it. I use wholemeal pitta breads at the moment which are OK BG wise.

I didn't know you could do that, thanks Antje. It's just that as a one-time manager in the NHS it narks me when people don't follow important stuff up - ask for help then don't act on it. I feel it is much the same as missed appointments, obviously not as important, but when people go out of...

To be fair I had forgotten about H&B - I avoid Douglas as much as possible! - there is a healthfood independent in Ramsey.

Back to 'island life' - no Sainsbury's here! Not much here once outside the capital, to be honest!

I should clarify the statement I made about 'eating what my wife eats'! She follows a heathy diet, and I didn't, really. Now I have to, which means eating things I would previously rather avoid and don't much like but are good for me in the 'new now', that she has eaten for years! My wife is...

Chia isn't something I have ever seen over here, it doesn't look very appetising TBH! I'll look in our one-and-only healthfood shop next time I'm down there.

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

Update. Although the management were no help, a nice staff member this morning helped after I went to find the shelf empty yet again. There is more due later today, and she is going to put some aside for me to collect later. At last!

    Type 2 Lethargy?

I'll have to google 'carb flu'. GP wondered about iron deficiency, B12 deficiency or prostate issues - tests ongoing.

Another wasted post then, if the OP can't be bothered to reply.... Annoys me, when you respond to an awkward question with some quite personal stuff (showing your bum in Marksies window!) that us men aren't good in handling due to the imagined sleight on our masculinity, to get no reply (thanks...

I'd say not, it's more 'I have to eat what my wife likes' !! LOL Married 35 years and just had to finally give in to that!

I have lost over a stone in the last 6 weeks, and continue to lose weight (now 13 st, target is 12. I'm over 5'10'' and 60) and thyroid function checked out OK kidneys, liver all good to excellent. I am on BP meds but they don't tie in with when the lethargy started. PSA test done waiting...

Interesting....but there lies my issue in trying this - I just HAAATE yogurt! It's OK used for raita with a curry....but I can't eat the stuff, just too....yeuch. Mrs NHN eats loads of it, and I have tried….but I have a sweet tooth, (obviously this has been my downfall) and while I like citrus...

Saw my GP today (he's new to the Island, listlad) who was amazed at my HbA1c reduction (51 to 41in 6 weeks) and asked how I achieved it. LCHF answer caused a raised eyebrow but an interesting conversation followed, with some real world advice from him - he gets it! He was happy to order another...

    erectile dysfunction

Viagra - works for me. I posted elsewhere on here a few days ago about it. Don't mess about, get brave, speak to your GP. Mine was great, really helpful and understanding, no smirks or comments, just sound advice what it does and when, and what to expect (like being 60 not 17!). Don't suffer...

    Type 2 Lethargy?

Yes. Did three or four times a day at first, but I now know what is likely to cause issues (bread, potatoes, white pasta) so maybe only once a day now. Usually 5.3 2 hrs after a meal unless I have been naughty.
