    Type 2 Lethargy?

Low carb but not no carb.... wholemeal pitta/meat/salad sandwich for lunch, which don't affect my BG, occasional tiny amount of wholemeal pasta or wild rice with evening meal, eating meat for protein.

    Type 2 Lethargy?

An almost 2 month newbie here, I am having terrible issues this week with lethargy, feeling really 'flat' and listless. I have reduced HbA1c from 51 to 41 with diet and exercise only, and reduced my weight from 14 to 13 stones, being very careful with carbs as I have identified them as...

    Almost 50!

Yup, got the T shirt. Actually had problems off and on before diagnosis, due to bp medication, but diabetes doesn't help. BUT, yes, Viagra does help. Don't be embarrassed, ask your doctor for it, (took me a while to build up to it) you can get a private prescription costs £5. It WORKS. GP...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

Well my GP is new to the island (and young), but as yet hasn't really said too much - I see him again on Friday. The diabetic nurse was.....a little difficult to work out. I got the impression he either thought I wasn't taking it seriously, or he was just not interested. He did recommend this...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

As answered above! I did as my Mum was Manx, but most folk don't understand. Or think we are the Isle of Wight. #sigh#. Mann is a special place, if you don't mind being marooned on a smallish island. We love it, been here 17 years. I don't mind the thread drift - as long as interesting...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

I worked in Victory House a few years ago so I was close to M&S back door then! Noa are...not as good as they like to think they are IMHO. Never found their bread very tasty at all so haven't looked for a while TBH. They're in the old market hall in Douglas now (used to be Harry's Café)...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

We live in Andreas, so the 'far north' LOL. Not seen it in M&S when we have looked, Shoprite in Ramsey have a space on a shelf for it but never actually seen any on it to buy - must be a load of diabetics in Ramsey nicking it first! Ramsey Bakery won't talk, tried to deal with them before...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.3 goodness continues. Also officially lost a stone since diagnosis 7 weeks ago - has to help!

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

There was a wink in there! ;););) Our local stores don't keep much 'UK' bread, it is mostly on island made stuff. The only Hovis I have seen is 'normal' brown loaves. As I mentioned before Tescos is a 48 mile round trip. Manxies are very parochial when it comes to goods and foodstuffs, it is...

    Another slightly freaked out newbie

Thanks - I won't give up the good work, I want to get totally on top of this. Note on Patient Access says 'tell OK'. Informative and encouraging, eh? :banghead: I think I have learned more on here and in self research than from health professionals...…:bookworm:

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

I got my 6 week A1c result today, didn't expect much TBH but was hoping for a sign of reduction. I got it - 41! Down from 51 in 6 weeks, now I have to keep up the good works. No bread in the store again today :-(

    Another slightly freaked out newbie

Well I got the result from my A1c today, 6 weeks since diagnosis at 51. I was 41...so low carb-ish works for me. Just keep off the potatoes Neil! Really pleased with that result it is the same as my last routine test in 2015. Woooo! I have to keep the good work up now

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

You couldn't write it. We decided to go out for lunch as it is chucking it down here, went for a drive to what used to be a veggie restaurant but since they moved out of town do meat a bit too, to get more footfall. Nice meal, lowish carbs. So as we had driven a fair way down the island and...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

Hi guys. Amazon are flaky with delivery here, it depends on the exact suppliers as any that use couriers won't! Odd ones will do, it depends on the direction of the wind on any day it seem sometimes! They charge them too much on the ferry, but Royal Mail is the same cost as a UK address. The...

Burgen Bread Query - Newbie Question

I'll look out for that. They won't do 'order in', too risky for the small population. :arghh: They're not very helpful with stuff like that. Oh, return ferry trip in the summer - £400! :grumpy: Makes for expensive bread...… ;) Some good pointers here though, thank you all.
