Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

BG before dinner 28.4!! Eek!! Am calling surgery tomorrow, this just is not good enough and I've had enough. How long should new medication take to work? 2 days of half dose (160g) of Gliclozide and 100g of Sitagliptin? Still on 2000g Metformin.

Jeans falling down - that's brilliant, also dropping 2 dress sizes!!! Well done you!!! Glad to know your BG's have lowered, hopefully with new meds mine will soon. I could do with some of that, I wonder why my GP's are not recommending drugs like this? Also, reassuring that you are managing...

    Type 2, poorly controlled & blurry vision . . .

Just wanted to say 'Hello', from another high BG'er and blurry eye'er. I found my eyesight went blurry when my BG was high, but maybe it was just because I started LCHF. I am sure your eyesight will recitify itself very soon. I too craved carbs and felt ill, but it soon passed, now I just...

That's good, that you are feeling better and also that you don't have to be seen until September. I bet thats a great relief. :)

Thank you Shez. Yes, it's awful feeling rubbish, fed up of it to be honest but hopefully things will calm down once I am seen by the CDC. How high have your readings been? Also, how are you finding the injections, is lyxumia insulin? Sorry for all the questions, just interested. :shy: Have you...

Thank you Clive, the same to you all. How are your kidneys? Improved I hope. I guess I am just impatient, just seem to have waiting so long.

Not doing very well, BG been running in the late teens and low 20's. Am now taking just 160g of Gliclozide and started my Sitagliptin yesterday so maybe it's too soon for a good result with this. Still low carbing but not so much high fating. Not sleeping due to pain, Gabapentin still don't...

Thank you Zand. Lowest BG result today has been 17.1, but I am not going to dwell too much on my results until I get my new tablets/go to the DCC. Have had 454 calories and 17g carbs. Am going to try and find something to eat, though due to personal problems I have not felt like eating today...

I know, thank you both. All will be well very soon. It's just so frustrating at times. Must not post when I am doubting myself. Must remember that I am doing so well with carbs and calories. BG 25.1 now and haven't eaten anything else, so I know it's not me.

BG up to 18.4 3 hours post food, from 16.0 2 hours post food. What am I doing wrong? Had scambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon for breakfast. 2 x 97% sausages, mushrooms and a child's apple for lunch. 2 x small pork chops and salad for tea.

That's a really steady good weight loss. And here I am moaning about only losing 1lb this week. I hope to emulate your loss, slow and steady is surely the answer as I would imagine it's easier to keep it off that way.

BG down from 26.4 this morning to 16.0 after dinner. 2 pork chops and salad and have 341 calories and 23g carb left. Not that I intend eating any more today though. My Mum made the family a gorgeous looking lemon cake but I am resisting so far! ;)

I'm not finding I am hungry at the moment, maybe a bit in a morning if at all, but would go over my 1200 calories if I was. It's still a lot less than I was previously was eating. Thank you :)

Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

Thank you all so much, I just wish I could see the DCC or have my new tablets straight away, but I know I am getting somewhere now so that's good. He couldn't give me Sitagliptin now to see if it will work as I need to have my bloods taken before starting a new medicine. Hopefully, it won't be...

Thank you Donnelly. I asked to be referred and he just said ok, and that if I wanted to go on insulin then I would need to be seen by the Community Clinic anyway. He would think that my levels are dangerous if he knew exactly how I feel, it's horrible feeling like you are going to pass out all...

Well, that didn't go as well as it could have. Doctor seemed in a rush to get me out but I felt like I was in charge and asked lots of questions. To sum up, I have to go for blood tests on Wednesday, and then on Friday that I will start a new tablet called Sitagliptin, this will come in my...
