Type 2 Not Feeling too well and blood testing!

I was in exactly the same situation as you a few days ago. It turned out I just had a virus...my first since being diagnosed but I was convinced it was related to my Type 2. It did spur me on to get a meter, however, and I am now doing a full week of testing, trying out different foods to see...

True...just wondering if others had the same. Am reluctant to get meter as I am easily obsessed!

    Too low on diet

Is it possible to lower your blood glucose too far by adopting the LCHF diet? I am T2 and on one 500mg Metformin a day. Last time it was checked, three months ago, my Hba1c was 41. I have had a couple of dizzy spells in the last few days and am wondering if that is the cause.

    Metformin after main meal

My doctor has reduced my Metformin to one 500mg a day. Is it best to take this after my main meal of the day (usually lunch) and does it matter if this varies?

    Weight loss

I have the same problem...I have upped my calorie intake but kept my carbs the same. I am losing weight more slowly but still it goes down. I seem to be eating all day long! Am going to up my carbs even more and hope that does the trick.

Don't think I can do this anymore.

I count my carbs with an app. I have about 30g per meal and a couple of snacks of up to 15g. I know this is a lot compared to some people on here, but it is really working for me. The carbs I eat are mainly low GI, but not always. My BG went from 97 to 41 in three months and I went from a size...

    Maintaining weight on LCHF diet

This is all good advice, but the best thing is that it is from others with experience of this. It is good to feel I am not alone!

    Maintaining weight on LCHF diet

Thanks for the reassurance! This diabetes lark has turned me into a health freak,. I have become a bit obsessive, I'm afraid.

Thanks...I have been trying to eat more nuts. I worry about my cholesterol with the cheese....it is still a bit high at 5.6

    Maintaining weight on LCHF diet

I can't stop losing weight whilst restricting my carbs. I have lost enough now, have increased my "good" fat intake and reduced my exercise regime. My BG is now within normal range and I am on two 500 Metformin a day. Any ideas?
