That is awesome. Thanks for posting this. I will ask my doc for a prescription. Do you know if it can be obtained through a pharmacy?

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

Yes, once the weight is off the plan for me is to go back to my regular VLC which keeps my sugars good and I don't gain weight even if I don't lose it. My last couple A1c's have been 5.5 so I am happy with that. I am having leftover shepherds pie today and again tomorrow lol. I think I will add...

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

I had gone up 2 pounds and stayed there for 2 days. Both those days I did not have a liver dump and stayed low and flat all day. The preceding 2 meals were very veg heavy with a bit of dark meat turkey and a lot of butter. Last night I had a very beef heavy shepherds pie made with cauliflower...

    What to do?

I was told by a doctor when dealing with a clients migraines that chocolate, peanut butter, and cheddar cheese were the most common food triggers. Turns out for him that the cheese was the culprit. Cheese is often a staple with low carb. Just a thought.

    What to do?

I am not a medical professional but maybe try some middle ground. Cut out the obvious pasta rice bread potato and the really heavy sugar fruit but don't try to go super low carb. There are quite a few members on here that do very well on 50 or 100 grams carb per day. Each of us is different and...

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

I am up 2 pounds today but have been in the small room constantly so suspect water retention. For the first time in like ever I had no liver dump today. I woke up at 4.9 and have now dropped to 4.1 pre meal. I went to bed last night at 4.9. This is where I would love to have a libre to see what...

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

Hi @Kristin251 I probably ate way more veg the last 2 days because of thanksgiving dinner and then leftovers. Some days I eat a fair amount and others I will eat bacon and eggs. I am not being as scientific as @CherryAA and I am just eating a largish low carb meal. Best guess is its ranging...

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

Still doing this and still losing. I am down 9 pounds now. My BG is still a bit higher than normal but still below 7 if only just. I have found that the veggies are spiking me much more than normal. I love carrots too but they don't like me much and are one of the foods that I have to pass by.

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

I do measure my waist from time to time and have definitely lost some there. It is now 2 am here and I have dropped from 6.7 pre meal to 4.1. Thanksgiving here so turkey (dark meat), brussels, broccoli, and butter on it all so probably 10 grams of carbs or so. Was a nice meal with family and...

    How do yo cope

I am both low carb and gluten free. My friends and family do not eat like I do but they will say to me I want to make such and such, how can we make this work for you? Often it is just throwing in a few extra veggies and a few less potatoes. If it can't be made to work for me I have something...

My personal hypothesis - T2 - Low insulin Diet

Hi @CherryAA I have been following this thread with a lot of interest as I know from repeated c-peptide tests that my fasting insulin is indeed very high even on very low carb (less than 20 grams per day for well over a year). I decided to try your method and have been doing it for 5 days now...

    Quick question on Shingles.

My understanding is after you have chicken pox the virus stays in the body for life in an inactive form. Shingles is the result of the virus activating for some reason. My brother had it and it was extremely painful. Not a doctor here so I could be way off base.

    Cravings

If you want a treat once a week maybe treat yourself to something non food. A new book or a movie night, a piece of clothing or new earrings. Whatever you enjoy. Using food as a treat is so ingrained in our society and it is a slippery slope. Good luck.

    Complications

I agree that you really need to get this pain looked into. Having said that, pain, stress, and infections can cause you to have high BG. Just a thought.

You need to eat more, plain and simple. Just not more carbs. If it was me I would skip the toast and have eggs for breakfast any style you like with bacon or sausage if you like it and cream in your tea. If you are not vegetarian then add some meat or cheese to dinner and butter on your veg...

    Puzzled - need advice

The two hour test tells you how well your body has dealt with the spike. It does not tell you how high you actually went. Testing at 1 hour after first bite will give you the spike or close enough.

You need to give more information before anyone can help you. Why are you losing so much weight? What do you eat? What medications if any do you take?

Do you carry low carb snacks with you ?

I don't carry with me but nuts, boiled eggs and gluten free pepperoni are my go to at home.
