Morning all 5.6 this morning, had the rocket ship that is porridge. That normally sends it to a 9.5 before coming back to its start point. All provided I dosed my insulin correctly

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Think I said it quite a few times before on here, seems type 2 is in some ways is harder than type 1, with the exception of I unless, a cure comes along I’ve got it for life. If I want to eat sourdough I do, it will spike my sugars the same as any other carb, but will come down to a good level...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Very late posting [emoji23] 5.2 this morning. Had my clinic appointment and my Hba1c has dropped to 39. It’s not a level caused by many lows but through consistently being in range. So far I’ve managed to be in target 87 times in the last 90 days. I’m now challenging the omnipod 5 to bring me...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yep I’ve an appointment tomorrow for my 3 month check up since being on Omnipod. The more data it gathers the better the chance of having it funded. It’s been a massive eye opener with the amount of background insulin for 24hrs I require. It’s as low a 0.5 to 1.25 units a day made up of very...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Sound like T2 have a tough time with the NHS. For us type 1’s cgm/ test strips are the norm on prescription, that said it’s a postcode lottery! I myself have had to fund omnipod 5 as my control is deemed as too good. If I didn’t give a stuff had high blood sugars the nhs would give me all the...

    Omni5 and insulin resistance?

I had virtually the same situation. What resolved it for me was while in auto, do a bolus correction. From this the system learns and will be updated at the next pod change.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I was never a fan of fruit or vegetables, but for me now, I don’t want to eat all carb meals, so I’ve actually found I now like the spinach/ broccoli all the greens. Eat loads of chicken/ fish. Sometimes i have a blow out and eat Pizza, that’s a tough one to get right

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

My normal breakfast is 30g porridge oats( 17g carbs), 30g blueberries (3g carbs), 150ml milk( 5g carbs) and throw in 30g walnuts. Obviously being type 1 I match carbs/insulin ratio and when you get it right is as the graph.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all back in the mid hives again. Woke up to a 5.5[emoji106] breakfast took it to 7.3 now on the way down again. Using a new carb/ ratio [emoji106]

    Insulin needs

I’m quite into tech myself, I’ve read quite a bit on AAPS system and watched some podcasts on it. Did consider the dash system with loop, but for the moment stick with Omnipod 5. I get the Dex one via nhs then use an Anubis G6 transmitter to create the loop. Work fine, but as you say AAPS is far...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all still in the 5’s just at 5.9 was not a good day yesterday. After my Normal breakfast/ lunch/ dinners my levels spiked to 10 even though I took the right amount of insulin and strange I could smell insulin after a bolus. Looks like my Omnipod 5 pump catheter had become dislodged and...

    Insulin needs

Just a question I was diagnosed with type 1?? Strange diagnosis as had a severe virus that I’m told attacked my pancreas, no typical diabetic symptoms but actually in DKA when admitted to hospital. This was 2 years ago and I managed within about 2 months to get quite good control. For personal...
