Do you have a link or a reference I could use to help me find that please? I would be very interested in reading that.

    Can Anyone Help Please

G'day Johnny I only have time to drop in here occasionally, so I skim through the latest posts when I do. I noticed that there has been a division between the low-carb and high-carb camps since I was last here. I hope you won't be offended when I say that when I read your opening post, and...

    How Low Can You Go?

How low can you go? if you really want to (I don't), zero is possible and safe if handled properly. But I don't think it would be either easy or wise in this modern world. I wrote this last month, I think you'll find it's relevant: Are Carbs Really Necessary? Just a note on your breakfast...

    Jenny's list

You've already been given Jenny Ruhl's great site. It occurred to me that you may actually be after the famous "Jennifer's Advice", written by a different lady. You will find that in many places; this is my copy: Test, Test, Test

    Confused/concerned by my test results

Just to be clear, did you eat breakfast after the exercise? If so, I don't recommend that as a good idea at all. You appear to be suffering from mild dawn phenomenon; exercise without breakfast will exacerbate that. If I have misread it, and you are eating first then exercising, that isn't so...

    Another newbie

G'day and welcome. I'm glad to see you usually cook from scratch, very sensible. Despite being married I generally cook for one twice (like a short-order cook:-) Almost everything I eat she doesn't and vice versa. We're like Jack Spratt and his wife, reversed. I gradually developed the...

    New to forum

Hello again John. I know where you're at - I'm 6' and I was 117Kg at diagnosis. Don't just concentrate on that weight loss section. That was a starting point for me, but I modified that with time and feedback from my meter. As you go on you'll see I gradually stopped worrying quite so much...

    Hi All

G'day Chris. Your doctor and I (and I'm just a patient) have very different ideas of what may be high, low or "normal". For example, I consider an occasional fasting of 8ish and an A1c over 6.5% to be excessively high for a person who has had this for over two years. And moving from 5.9...

    hello

G'day Belinda I read the later replies. I was more than a bit miffed, I was angry when I realised the situation several years ago. Sadly it is the same world-wide. I wrote this letter (Diabetes Authorities and Diet) to Diabetes Australia and later the ADA in 2004. It was probably filed in the...

    Hi I'm new

Thanks Sue. I'm afraid time is the enemy, but I'll try to drop in at least once a month in future.

Well, that was a good start to a Monday

Please read these links: Test, Review, Adjust Getting Started And if changes to your menu and the metformin don't have a reasonably rapid effect please ask your doctor for testing for type 1 or LADA.

G'day John Just two observations. The current high may be related to inflammation or infection, but if it continues see your doctor ASAP. Whenever something changes that quickly and that much it is wise to check if it continues. I think your menu could do with some major changes. Please read...

    hello

I hope I'm not too late to help with your shopping list. Please click on this: What to Eat Until You Get Your Meter. Earlier, you asked what these meant: triglycerides 3.2 LDL 2.5 HDL 0.75 HBAC 8.5% The HbA1c is an indicator of past blood glucose levels. It confirms that you are definitely...

    Getting that funny feeling

As well as your body slowly adjusting to your better levels, I suspect that you are still experiencing quite high numbers at your peak after some meals. Therefore you may be going too high then dropping rapidly to the good (not low) 4.4, and the speed of that drop can cause those symptoms too...
