    Type 2 ---hello all,newbie here!

It should be added that ( as in my own case) some people's Spike in blood glucose levels occures BEFORE the two hours, so check this in your own case in case you end up missing it ... as I always did until being told to check the hour too. Just a thought!

    Type 2 Okay ... so here's a point ..

My blood fasting readiing this morning was a little higher that usual at 6.9 ... and when I tested an hour after breakfast it was 8.3 ( my spikes are always within the first hour) So here's the thing ... if it only went up by so little, is that a good thing, or is it still too high? I realise...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

WOW Gezzabelle! How on earth did you lose that weight so quickly? I was also 11st 2lbs on diagnosis (5'4" tall) and I'm down to 9st 9lbs now but know that another half a stone loss would be perfect for me. I just don't lose any though now

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

My fasting level this morning was 5.7 so I'm assuming that is in the 'normal' range for a type 2? Only been testing for a couple of weeks, and in that time have ranged between 5.4 and 6.7. Have to admit that it's all still a little confusing for me!

Post GD: Blood sugar readings - please please help

Catapillar, either I've misread your reply to Lavender or I'm confused? My readings post meals have never ever hit 11+ and only once hit 10. Over the last week I've hit 9.5 on one occasion but I'm normally no higher than 8.8. Do you think I have been mis-diagnosed as Type 2?

    H E L P!

Yes ... I did retest and it was 6.1 so I am extremely relieved! I've never had a faulty test strip before! I feel foolish now for getting in such a panic ... thanks for advising me to retest

    H E L P!

This has never happened to me before, but it's almost an hour after my lunch and I've just had a reading of only 3.0 Is this something to worry about? I feel fine but this has alarmed me as I've not ever had a low reading like this! Anyone know if I should be concerned? Thank you

Does just one bad day make a difference?

Oh yes I SO have to agree with this! The only person we are cheating on is ourselves. I have to admit that my biggest fear is for my eyesight. I already have background retinopathy (as well as optic nerve damage ... from glaucoma in one eye) and I know I have to fight tooth and nail to halt...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.7 at 8.20am, although that's a late morning for me as I'm usually up at 6.30am ... oh and I DID have a rubbish day diet-wise yesterday! However, one hour following breakfast I was still only 7.7 ... so better check at two hours also

LOL ... well I leave the almond milk to soak in ... which actually thickens it and makes it seem like I'm consuming more! It works haha

Does just one bad day make a difference?

Yes and I really will be back on the straight and narrow tomorrow. You can bet your bottom dollar. I know that my usual readings are still a bit above the desired level, so it just upsets me that I willingly wrecked my whole day today. Thanks for your input

Does just one bad day make a difference?

Hi everyone. As a newbie to the site I wish to introduce myself. I'm still coming to terms with now being a type two diabetic (shock ... horror) and have been pretty good over the last few months dietwise .. but then again I've ALWAYS eaten nuts, vegetables, fruit, plain yoghurts and a suger...

Today I have had a small amount ( two level tablespoons) of muesli with a handful of blueberries on top, followed by 6 various nuts.
