What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Busy old day today Very early breakfast of yoghurt and strawberries Brunch of cooked breakfast (sausage, bacon, mushrooms, fried egg, small amount of beans) Afternoon snack of a peperami, cheese and a Fibre One bar whilst helping out at my local football club (very hectic!) Dinner of what seemed...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Back down to 23st 4.5lbs from 23st 6lbs last week. I had hoped to get to 23st for my birthday next week but last week's 1.75lb rise has put paid to that, I think. Still, a loss is a loss.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.3 this morning, but I am not too sad with that as had a Tandoori Mixed Grill (no rice) and half a naan bread last night so I'll take that.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: Three butcher's sausages & three egg omelette (with a spoon of cream cheese as an experiment) Snacks: Didn't eat enough last night, and ate breakfast a bit early, so had pork scratchings, two squares of 75% Lindt and a no sugar jelly (think the chocolate has repeated on me since)...

Finger prick BG testing obsession, help please!

I completely understand the urge to keep testing. I'm still learning about things so I'm testing six times a day (pre/post each meal) but I'm trying to cut down now. I'm now going to test when I wake up and after any meal I haven't had/don't know the effects of.

    Reusing test strips

I've been really lucky that my nurse has put strips on prescription (just as well as I'm going through them very quickly while I learn what spikes me and what doesn't!)

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday: Three egg omelette with a sprinkling of cheese and three butchers sausages Lunch: Leftover lamb chop with a small salad, pickled sundries, cheese coleslaw, a portion of homemade carrot cake (low carb, alas it was far too dry - the rest will go nicely with some yoghurt today) and some...

    Lindt 99% Dark Chocolate

I tried some Sainsbury's Ugandan 90% and that was a bit bitter for my liking as well. As a newcomer to dark chocolate through necessity, I guess it is something that you can get a taste for in time!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: Tried making coconut porridge (coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, desicated coconut, almond butter and milk) which was filling enough but the flavour just wasn't there. Got a few different recipes to try when my next shopping batch comes. Lunch: Lamb chop in air fryer (no oil)...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.6 this morning, which I am okay with. Last night I ate later than I would have liked (although my levels were 5.2 an hour and a half after eating so perhaps I am reading myself all wrong)

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast was my faux-oats with raspberries Lunch was a cheese and ham salad with assorted pickled items, followed up by yoghurt, the rest of the raspberries and blackberries and a sugar free jelly as I was really craving something "artificially" sweet. Dinner was going to be a late one last...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.0 this morning - think it was a combination of eating later and having a vegan chocolate and coconut torte with vegan ice cream at the pub restaurant last night! (Don't regret it a bit though, it was delicious and in total still came in at the right level of carbs)
