With "long pig" as the PNG cannibals were wont to call it, it'd have to be apple sauce surely? o_O

Coca Colonialisation everywhere! There's been a new expose about how Coca Cola has been influencing food guidelines even in China - more of the blame the victim and exercise solves everything :(

Still, apart from the early appearances by Michael Moseley and Caryn Zinn, there were starchy foods everywhere - especially bread. The bit about the Samoan Govt being blackmailed by the US and NZ into accepting their carbage foods was also very disappointing.

I really don't understand the purpose of denial. I mean, most human traits seem to have some evolutionary/survival function, but for the life of me I can't understand what survival benefit could possibly come from denial of reality. Anybody got any clues? Just about ever person in the...

I think this thread and the documentary might prove to be a useful recommendation for people who are in denial about the seriousness of their diabetes, so thank you for posting it @VioletViolet.

    New Zealand documentary

Just watched the opening scenes and already feel like crying. It absolutely doesn't help anyone to ignore their diabetes. Have bookmarked to watch the whole series later. Don't think I can face it this early in the morning, to be honest :(

OK, so check out Prof Ioannidis and Dr Prasad and tell me what is factually wrong in their considered critiques of nutritional epidemiology. Despite what you may think, there is no consensus among scientists that nutritional epidemiology is a true science. It is considered soft science at best...

@midnightrider - I guess we will have to agree to disagree on the subject of the usefulness of nutritional epidemiology. I don't see the point in arguing about it. We're all entitled to select the experts we trust. Both Prof Ioannidis and Dr Vinay Prasad are highly respected scientists and I...

My "problem" as you call it is that nutrition "science" based on epidemiology is essentially hocus pocus and about as accurate as astrology. Even scarier when they try to pretend they are experts in environmental science as well. I'm more persuaded by Prof John Ioannidis on the subject:

WHO is pushing a plant-based agenda and has been for some time. @CherryAA is pretty vocal on twitter about it. Lots of links between WHO and the new EAT-Lancet agenda as well. It's a web of influence with a core group of billionaire vegan advocates at the centre. They are determined to force...

    Diabetes and Psoriasis

I've heard Dr Bernstein say several times that almost all of the diabetics he treats have psoriasis as well as diabetes. There seems to be a strong connection between both diseases.
