    So confused

:hilarious:Yes Are you wondering what reactions my culinary forays elicit? We are unabashed foodies, and also co-travellers on this oft delicious food odyssey, conjoined equal opportunity offenders might I add, we both find it quite exciting, habiting this realm of 'try anything once' mindset...

    Bloods and fasting

Absolutely. Eggs are the protein all other proteins have to measure up to. Eggs are the gold standard for protein values in an item.

Diabetes UK mentioning that Low Carb might be helpful in T2 in the new edition of Balance!

They lost me at "...Although the amount of carbs has a direct effect on blood glucose after eating, studies that have compared relatively high carb diets, with low carb diets, have shown no significant differences in long term HbA1c levels. However people with T2 diabetes who follow a low carb...

    medium carb diet plan

The USDA nutrient database is the only site I trust. They have done the leg work, and tested items unless where the item is a brand in which case they report the information that is given by the brand owners...

    Do you still enjoy food

I love my meals. I enjoy the foods I get to make those meals with. I am never bored with my meals. I make meals from scratch, and I love my cooking. I have been known to dance from the sheer pleasure of eating my LCHF meals. If I have to say so myself so be it - my cooking skills are gourmet...

    GlucoMen Areo

The OP clearly stated that he found the Freestyle lite lancing device suitable for his individual need. I have the fastclix and I don't use it. My favourite lancing device happens to be the lancing device that came with my CareSens meter. The medieval stuff works for me.

    GlucoMen Areo

Use any lancing device that works for you. the meter does not care what device you made the puncture with, so long as it has enough blood sample for the purposes of reading your BG values. My point is you don't need to use the Areo lancing device if its not working for you, when you find that...

Bought a mahoosive swede in Aldi 39p Super Six

Only by testing would one know. Foods impact people differently. Luckily swede (Rutabaga - for our North American friends) keeps well even if cut. So since its a large one, take some and do a trial run so you know if he will tolerate it well. Stores well in a cool dark dry place...

New to meds, concerned about side effects

In a majority of cases not all but a good majority, (In some cases can also be due to an injury/drug reaction/ another medical condition) a diagnosis of Type2 diabetes would have been preceded by Insulin Resistance, due to hyperinsulinemia. A person with a diagnosis of T2DM should give dietary...

    Advice on injecting in public

First of all you are not doing anything wrong by taking care of yourself in a respectful, necessary, dignified manner in front of them or anybody for that matter, whenever you give yourself your insulin shot. Any of them who does not like it, should wear a blindfold, whenever they wake up in the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I was thinking the same. Then last night, I indulged in a food item whose impact I was not quite sure what it will end up as. It takes me about a week to know the full impact of those kind of forays. I aim for tight control, due in large part to my history of Obesity and strong family history...
