    Glucogel On Prescription

i prefer to have a small carton of orange juice. It's just the correct amount (for me) and very cheap in supermarkets. But if I was severe I would take Glucotabs as they last a long time without going off in there plastic container. But get yourself sorted, a lot of hypo's is not good for you.

    Criteria

the DP could be a loss of basal insulin. I used to take Levimer twice a day which was not too bad. I am now on one ijection of Toujeo and find the DP. hardly noticable. Only problem with very long acting basal is it takes 3 or 4 day's to adjust and see the results

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

I have done a bit of cycling and have found for me I have to take regular glucose tabs. Taking all long acting takes too long to get into the body. Its also better to be slightly ahead with the glucose because if you are dropping it takes a lot of getting up. This can be tapered off as you near...

    lantus vs levemir

I was on Levimer for quite a lot of years. my normal dose was 16 in the morning and 6 in the evening. I would adjust the daytime and nightime doses to suit my day basal and night basal results. If say I increased my night time amount it would affect me most in my before breakfast test. This is...

Dexcom g4 readings not matching bg

I am no expert but is a pump the right thing to have if she is on the lowest basal rate and still is not low enough. I have been seeing my DSN a lot lately and she has persuaded me to run my sugars higher. What surprised me was my average level ( Hba ) only went up by 4 units to 54. So...

    Libre readings way out

sorry I can't remember the exact proceedings. but I phoned them 3 times The first time a man made me feel a bit dissgusted with his abrupt attitude. Then I spoke to a technician who suggested I had been scanning too much. the third time i told a lady what the technician told me and that I was...

    Libre readings way out

mine has also been out a lot so much so I don't use it anymore. Just not good enough. I had one sensor replaced after contacting them but was a nightmare to get it replaced by them. The second time I contacted them the normal desk people were busy so I was diverted to a technical person. He...

Can low blood sugar make you sick?

Don't think chocolate is a good hypo treatment. It takes far too long to get absorbed into you and can eventually send you high as it is likely too much is eaten. I use a small carton of orange juice or gluco tabs if very low

    Splitting Levemir dose

I was on it for years and was on a split dose of 16 in morning and 6 at night. If I woke up in the morning to high or low levels I would simply adjust the night time dose. my doses though did seem to vary as they still do on toujeo about every couple of months. I also injected my morning bolus...

    Rice & pasta

yes i agree with slip about sometimes the rice and pasta are slower to kick in. What I do is inject my insulin shortly after eating instead of before the meal. works with me anyway.

Hi there I am using touj(eo. been on it for about 5months. Before that I was on Humulin insulin though this I found to be not good for my control (type 1 for 50yrs).
