    Accu chek Combo verses Insight

I like my insight. It is slowish, but not too bad. If you hold finger on top button for at least 5secs (when on) it resets and speeds it up. I often do this process a couple of times and hold it down about 8secs, whilst it turns fully off.

    Pumping Fiasp... Unexplained highs

I was on fiasco for about 9 months in a pen.(now on insight pump). At the start it was very good fast insulin. But I found the longer I was on it the speed and effectiveness lessened. It ended up being slower than humalog or the actrapid I am now on. So it was getting less effective as time went...

Why is the Insight handset so slow?

I usually do something else whilst it is sorting, getting dressed, put kettle on or breakfast on. If you hold top button on for a few seconds every day, it resets and speeds up slightly. But otherwise I like it

    Accu Chek Insight

I have a new case for insight. It came with pump kit. I do not need it as I carry mine in a zipped pouch with blood test equipment. You can have it if you want. Just send me a small stamped addressed jiffy bag. It's black though.

    Pump problems

I prefer a tube as the inserted cannula can be visually checked.

Accu-Check Aviva Insight - handset issues

I like mine. It is a bit slow, but its recommended to reset occasionally by holding turn off button on top for 5 seconds until it turns fully off. Then simply turn on again

    Choice of 3 pumps

I have been offered a Medtronic or insight pump to replace an animas which has been faultless/brilliant. I have decided on an Insight.

    Medtronic 640g and sharps bin?

I only put the actual needle in sharps bin. I pull the sharp needle bits out with tiny blunt nail clippers. The remaining plastic and tube, I put in normal bin

    Needle port problems

I use angled Inset 30 . These are soft teflon type on an animas pump. Occasionally when I remove near the end is linked. But it has worked ok. This happens for me when I have held the inserter at incorrect angle. If I lay it down more it's ok. Suppose this in effect shortens it. Like the...

Experience on combo bolus with Fiasp

I like Fiasp. Been on it few months. When I first used it, it was fast. But find it slow down after a while. I started on 60/40 over couple of hours. But changed it within few days to 11/2 hrs. Now on 80/20 over 1 hour for most foods. Bread, rice chips. I spike very little and don't drop much...

    Been approved :)

When I saw DSN still took very long time. I had one retire whilst dealing with me. I had already done DAFNE, before trying for one

    Been approved :)

My doctor said yes but it still took over 12 months to get. As it has to be approved by consultant. Also to get it considered by consultant I had to be put forward by Diabetes Specialist Nurse. (who was wonderfull)

    Fiasp

Yes I have it in a pump. I like it a lot, works faster. Strangely though with me it slowed down after a few weeks, but it is still faster than Humalog. When I first used it I used a combo bolus over couple of hours to slow it's action. This prevented hypos post meal. Now I bolus over less...

    Are you using anchor tape?

I was told to always tape tube a short distance from cannula. Leaving a slight bend in tube to allow slight movement. If the pump is accidentally dropped it will hang from the tape and not pull out cannula. I use micropore.

Going To Self Fund Pump Or Should I

I found levimer did not last 24 hrs, more like 20 or 21. By splitting it into 2 doses, one in morning and one at night, they can be adjusted for day or night. My day dose was much higher than night. It worked for me

    Insight Pump - Reliability

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I am on Animas and I am very pleased with it. Easy to use, small etc. Shame they are pulling out of UK

    Infusion Sites For Lean Adults

I am on Animas and use angled cannula. They are 30deg. I find ifmi e is slightly linked it still works perfectly. What seems to cause the link with me is..not holding the inserter at the correct angle when firing. There is a tendency to hold it slightly too upright. If its laid down more is...

    Struggling with consistent control

It's advised not to rely on cgm results as they can often be incorrect. Supposed. To blood test tone sure. I have had Libre and Dexcom and spending £50 a time to get inaccurate readings. Just blood test now a lot.

    Pump Waiting List Time

I was over a year and had already done DAFNE couple of years earlier. Do a DAFNE course. My local Dsn at doctors arranged it. It will help to get pump. Also gets rough settings to go on pump

How Many Carbs Should I Allow For Canderal

Many thanks all, I thought I was correct in counting all carbs.. Really a sweetener such as Canderal is a waste of time as it has nearly as much as sugar.
