    Metal Detector

I only have the Medtronic manufacturer’s information for pumps at airport security and other such places, regarding metal detectors, X Ray machines and body scanners. I would advise you as others have before to contact your pump manufacturer for info sheet for such occasions and also your...

    Metal Detector

Indeed we are saying the same thing. Or did you mean to reply to someone else? My pump Medtronic 640g does not set off metal detectors and neither did my other medtronic pumps. Metal detectors are not the problem. The problem is the body scanner (the thing that looks like it’s from Star Trek...

If you have an iPhone and it’s probably the same if you have an android phone, you can download an app and use your phone as a sensor reading device and it can share with your consultant too. I know mine says she spies on me[emoji6]

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

This is exactly the point... we do get anxious when our pump manufacturers state not to put the pump through the X Ray or body scanners ... as you rightly said no-one has a problem with swabbing the pump. It’s very stressful knowing that security could yank it off your body (Bristol airport)...

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

Medtronic(my pump manufacturer) says that under no circumstances should it be put under the X ray scanner or through the total body scanner. If it breaks/malfunctions( which it has after being forced to do the body scanner) this is at your cost- and for me they cost a lot!!! If you have...

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

I did not mean to offend you at all and I am extremely and sincerely sorry that I did. I obviously misinterpreted what you wrote. I never implied that you were ignorant at all. I talked about the people at security. You said you didn’t work there if I remember correctly, you said you were...

I think that every person has had various different experiences ... addressing firstly your friend with the pacemaker ... most people with or without training will have some knowledge what a pacemaker is and does. Pregnancy everyone knows here should be no X-rays etc. However, insulin pumps...
