    Levemir peak

    I only have quite small doses 5u before bed and i don't find there is a peak. HOwever, I find I can't take it earlier than 11pm otherwise I start to rise from about 5/6am onwards, so long as I take it at 11pm I'm ok. I then take my morning dose of 5/6u at 8am.

    I know a man who is in his 80s, has had type 1 since his teens, he is still at work! Through choice, part time, but likes to keep busy. Don't despair. Look after your diabetes and your diabetes will look after you. Stay strong x

    I have rice krispies and i control the spike by giving my insulin 30/45 mins before i eat, depending on my wake up number.

    though first few years were ok, it went down hill fast. you are sometimes made to feel a failure if pump dont work for you or you dont like it cuz everyone says how wonderful they are. that's fine but they are not for everyone

    i'm currently on 11u levemir 6u morning and 5u at night with 1.5 -3u humalog when i get up then food at 12pm with humalog then again at 6/7pm with humalog. i am so much happier off the pump. hope things are still going well ?

    may just be the diabetes then. my moods can change in the blink of an eye, i know i am being an ar'ehole but can't seem to stop myself. or sometimes i just start crying and can't stop for no reason. moods all over the shop.

    Hi, what Insulin are you on? a friend and I were on Apidra Insulin and found it both had a bad effect on our moods and were really down and snappy. i am much better now i'm on Humalog. just a thought

    yes, i did. i needed different profiles for the weekends, mondays and thursdays then a third for tues, wed and friday. usually. was switching all the time.

    basal test at night, and no, not in the day. i test 2hrs post eating to make sure i am not spiking too much and don't seem to. i prebolus breakfast, lunch but not dinner and snack at work as i am active so dont need to and need much less insulin
