Very good point in a book using insulin when levemir had just come out said it was weaker. But just my experience tells me its not weaker than lantus at all. And DD yes i change day time lev doses for days off work as i do an active job.

Levemir used to be weaker than Lantus but it is the same strength now. Im on 2u more with levemir than i was on pump. Think levemir will help you. I find lantus never has worked for me

    No more pumping for now.

takes a good 3 days for levemir to get in my system and i need higher doses then i can bring them down so my advice is be patient, it will come good. just keep adjusting. wish i could only eat once a day :) mind, i do often skip breakfast and like you, inject a few units of fast acting to stop...

The pump itself is ok buy i wanted a smaller pump than my combo was and i had the veo briefly til they made me switch. That was great but the 640g was too big and heavy for my liking. I just cant get on with it. Most people love it seems its just me

Im really grateful to have found this thread thank you for starting it. Ive been told should things change you can reapply for funding. But will cross that bridge if it ever happens. Just have to work on the nurse and letting me give trisiba a whirl. If not 2 x levemir is good enough.

    No more pumping for now.

Well, after 2 years of debating with myself i have finally told my nurse i want off the pump. I am giving it back next week. Having the horrible minimed 640g was the final push along with the failed infusion sets time after time. I have asked about Tresiba but have been told it's not widely...

Nonmetabolic Complications of Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion: A Patient Survey

i understand completely how you feel. i feel free! i also keep not be able to bear to put a new canula in when i know it will just fail/bleed/hurt/bruise and be uncomfortable to wear. i know lantus can take a few days to establish itself, same for levemir in my experience but levemir is...

Nonmetabolic Complications of Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion: A Patient Survey

i haven't tried tresiba but would like to. i've had pump breaks to mdi about once a month the last year! longest breaks before then was the odd 2 weeks here and there, mainly in the summer. that's interesting about scar tissue. it seems whereever and whatever set i use it bleeds/doesn't...

Nonmetabolic Complications of Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion: A Patient Survey

i'm having to change daily. i was on a pump break, put it back on this past week and have had to change set 5 times in 4 days, have just pulled one out now full of blood, bruises and sore as per usual. i've been on a pump almost 10 years and i really think i just have to go back to mdi now. it's...

i'd rather have cgm than a pump, can't afford it tho. i would get a libre but obviously none available :(

    No more pumping for now.

Have been on mine almost 10 years and have taken it off the past few week. Reading this is just how I feel. I am having the rise overnight on my current 2 doses of levemir but i am working on it and things are getting better. I just feel FREE! and with the pens I know the insulin is getting in...

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

you may not have to recharge it then if that's the case but it does have to be removed, wait a few mins and then reattach so it thinks it's a brand new one. def tricky esp being partially sighted

    Anyone gone back to MDI?

no, that's the thing, once you give it back that's that. life changes and how you deliever insulin needs to go with those changes, the pump was great for shift work. now i think mdi will be ok, but who knows what the future holds. tricky! will chat with my nurse i think.

    Anyone gone back to MDI?

Thank You both. I have taken breaks before, a few days, a few weeks. My life is more routine these days so I find I am OK on the injections and it's not too much of a hassle. I think I shall take a break, and see how I feel. If it wasn't the NHS paying for the pump then yeah I'd have a break...
