Type 2 and chronic fatigue syndrome

Mine started after my husband was made redundant from a job that he'd been in for 38 years. I think I had a breakdown as it a very stressful time. I started to feel dizzy all the time and couldn't walk unaided and would sleep constantly. My gp sent me for masses of scans and tests to check for...

Disagreement with doctors about testing strips

When I went for my yearly diabetes check the dn asked me to change my meter, I declined as I use the Accucheck mobile which I think is brilliant. Everything is all together in one little machine. She was fine about it and told me that the practice want to get everyone onto a cheaper machine...

Type 2 and chronic fatigue syndrome

I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist in 2002 with fibromyalgia after I suggested to my gp that I might have ME. I was diagnosed with polymyalgia about 4 years ago and was prescribed steroids to treat it. Initially I felt wonderful, I could walk pain free up hills and stairs etc but the massive...

    Latest Review

I had an exercise bike, it had had several owners and still had only 30 miles on the clock! I used to drape clothes over and later sold it to a friend. She put another couple of miles on it, used it as clothes storage then sold it on. It will soon have had as many owners as miles!

Rapid weight loss often causes gallstones and a lot of surgeons routinely remove the gallbladder at the same time as the bypass surgery.

The problem is that codeine causes constipation. So you're just going in a perpetual circle. Constipation pain = take codeine = helps pain= constipation. I had horrendous stomach pain which felt like I was full of gas plus pain in my back between my shoulder blades. I tried rennes and weird...

    Grave's disease

I was diagnosed with graves in 1992. I had surgery to partially remove it. I instantly became underactive and started on thyroxine until my thyroid grew back (who knew) in 2000. I then had radio iodine at the Christy hospital and within a week or so I was unable to stand or even hold the...

I am T2 and had graves disease in my early 30's I was told that if you had 1 autoimune condition you were more than likely to have another. I am also anaemic ( I could sleep 23 hours out of 24. I am now on the two week cancer pathway because of the anaemia, low platelets, white bloodcells...

Here we go again! Heartbeat skipping a beat.

I was diagnosed with svt ( a fast irregular heartbeat) and really bad palpitations. I am on the waiting list to see a consultant who is expert in ablation but the waiting list is humongous apparently. I started low carbing at the beginning of January and haven't had palpitations since! My...

I had more blood tests on Thursday to find out what exactly is going on with my anaemia and liver. My liver enzymes are back to normal (no more fatty liver) .I'm going back to see the gp on Wednesday if my results are back. Blood glucose meter

The nurse got me a presciption for 2 cassettes and said I should test at least 4 times a day. She was quite happy to get the prescription but I think that the bosses want her to encourage people to use the cheaper monitor /testing strips. She didn't attempt to force another monitor onto me. I do...

    Blood glucose meter

I had to go back for more blood tests today so I asked for a presciption for the cassettes my meter uses. I requested two cassettes with my monthly prescription but was only prescribed one. Each cassette does 50 tests so last less than 2 weeks. The nurse asked me if I would change my meter as...

I was eating next to nothing and had high bs readings and couldn't lose weight. All my family kept saying how little I ate ( I think this was due to the dulaglutide ) and yet had a huge tummy, tachycardia and generally felt rubbish. I started lchf in the new year and have not only lost about...
