Urgent!!!!! Libre sensor or monitor not working on holiday

Pleased to hear you got the strips, shame about the infection in your arm, though at least you know why it was hurting, now.

    Struggling!

Hi Libby, if your eating isn't structured, I can see the argument for having four quite low doses of novorapid per day. Ironically, though, the event you are at probably enforced a three meal a day structure on you, so it's not surprising it's a bit hard. So I can see why you feel the last week...

I'm not very good at "monkey see, monkey do" I've tended to find a song, and learn to play it, using what I know, and developing from that, but I feel as if I've reached the limit of what I can do that way. So the class is very much switching to more of a "monkey see, monkey do" style learning.

Morning everyone, Miscalculated my bolus yesterday lunch time, and messed up the whole day, so it's been a bit overly keen to hang around in the 8s and 9s, so going to turn a little aggressive now, and push it back into the 5s and 6s. I joined a cute little beginner guitar class, I've been...

need advice what would you do in my situation

How much Levemir are you taking? the amount of time a basal insulin lasts depends, quite a lot, on how high the dose is. Your basal may have passed its peak, but there may be a tail end still working, which keeps your blood glucose steady. I think the amount of time it lasts is different for...

Hmmmm..............what happens in the sewing club should stay in the sewing club. I hope you'll use my reverential language when referring to these fine mature ladies, next time.

That's a bit of an unnecessarily derogatory term to use to describe this event. Every year my local council runs a quite large number of adult education sewing classes, and every year they fill up before I get round to joining any classes, it's a very popular activity, and rightly so.

Portugal should be ok, here is the guide, on travelling there, from this very website https://www.diabetes.co.uk/travel-guides/portugal.html

My last prescription only had 1 box of needles, not 2, that may have been a mistake, these things do happen, but I'll have to check with the next time. This perception of Type 1 diabetes as low hanging fruit in the cost savings on prescriptions crusade is a bit annoying, especially as it comes...

Urgent!!!!! Libre sensor or monitor not working on holiday

Oh dear. Maybe the extra activity in travelling moved the sensor a bit. Whether it will work again properly is hard to know. Where are you? The best way to find out if you can buy test strips at a pharmacy is to go and ask.

    Test strips shortage

I agree, buy the cheapest blood testing meter, and strips you can find, to tide you over. It's not a bad thing to have an alternative meter anyway, they can break, and if you think a reading looks a bit suspect, you can test with the other meter. So although it's annoying to have to spend the...

Mine is doing both, myinsulin to carb ratio seems to have gone up at lunch times, and gone down in the evening, very strange. From where they were, that is, it was always like that a bit, but seems to even more so at the moment.

It's more likely related to preparing to go on holiday, I would guess. Anyway, have a good time.

NHS needs to pay less for insulin, study advises

Hmmm. £400 a year for insulin isn't a huge amount. Cutting costs is a good thing, where possible, but development of new products is an essential part of improving insulin management, and if there is too much movement towards penny pinching, and away from supporting new technology, and products...

Could be excitement, some people have been saying it's the changing temperatures, as it starts to get colder, insulin requirements increase, could be that.

Yeah, I'd be a bit squeamish about killing, and eating, my own chickens. Keeping them for eggs sounds like a nice idea, obviously we don't want Harry to die too soon, but it sounds like an interesting project.
