    Nutritional value for a recipe?

Hi @Nic71 I think this is a great question and I had/have similar struggles. @lovinglife 's reply came up as I was typing so my answer is more or less the same, except perhaps that she is capable and confident and I'm all over the place. I work out how many carbs in the total and then divide by...

    What’s your inspiration?

Great thread @aylalake thank you. I really, really thought about my answer to this. I even meditated on it because I want to be honest. It would be easy to say my children or caring for my elderly parents. It would also be honest to say I'm somewhat scared of illness even calling myself a...

I think I'm stumped for a low carb sub (haggis)

I understand the principal but its still a bit daunting.I'm getting there. I've mastered a basic creamy cheese sauce that they all love and reappears in a variety of guises. I'll get there. Thanks again for your help.

Ah but @KennyA You have to catch them before you can cook then.

I think I'm stumped for a low carb sub (haggis)

Gosh @MrsA2 this sounds yummy. You don't happen to have a recipe. I'm kind of new to actual "cooking" rather than "heating" and it really is a "do exactly as it says and it might work" activity for me.

I think I'm stumped for a low carb sub (haggis)

January 25th is Burn's day and for loads of us folks this side of the border haggis is traditional. For the last 30 years or so I've hosted this and would really not like this to be a years where I sit with a sausage! Since diagnosis in August I've bought or made subs for everything. Birthday...

Thanks @catinahat I fully intend enjoying them in thirds as after dinner treats. I'm just a bit obsessive about counting carbs.

Can someone help with counting carbs ?

How wise you are @HSSS I truly thought it was in Croatian but I put my specs on and looked again and I think the lavender is 30.6 per 100g and the olive oil 45.4 per 100g. I can manage the sums from there. Thank you

Can someone help with counting carbs ?

Good Morning. Happy New Year. My son's lovely partner has been visiting his parents in Croatia and returned with a gift for me of two small dark chocolate bars. My internet skills are somewhat limited and try as I might I can't find a carb count for them. I wondered if someone had a minute to...

    Newly diagnosed type 2!

Uft I've cried at lots of responses. I well up every time @JoKalsbeek responds to me because she is such a cheerleader and always makes me feel good about myself. Other people make me smile, other people make me think. There are even people who make me take a deep breathe and rethink. There's...

Ultimate (hopefully) Christmas Thread - Tips, Tricks, "Hacks", Coping Mechanisms, Swaps, Recipes - Anything goes!

This entire post really resonated with me @Outlier . I don't know that I feel exactly the same but its certainly a "variation on a theme" I enjoy and look forward to all my meals. After 30 years of guilt and calorie counting every time I add cream or butter or even sit down to something with...

Hi Paddy Welcome aboard I was diagnosed in August so I'm still a bit of a newbie and I'll let people far wiser than me give you the diabetic advice I'll just say that since I found this forum I've lowered my Hba1c to prediabetic numbers, my blood pressure is coming down, I've lost 30lbs and I...
